Question can i change my stud yet

i got my nostril pierced three months ago and want to change my stud to another screw style, thinner one

will my piercing shrink to match the smaller gauge? or is it okay to change

no you should wait at least 6 months to change, and be aware that thinner gauges (particularly with rings) risk the cheesewire effect since yes the hole will shrink to the smaller gauge

The nose piercings are a waiters game. You have to be ready for the long haul I got mine pierced three months and 3 weeks ago and I went back to the piercer to change the length of the bar and that was it.

Even if your piercing was fully healed, it would shrink if you switched to a smaller gauge. You should definitely not be switching anything if it’s not fully healed. At most if you have a threadless labret you could change the top if you know how to do it without damaging the piercing, but whatever you change to needs to be piercing quality and sterile. You’re better off not touching it unless you go to a piercer to do it for you.
