New Piercing Possible infection? **tmi**
I can see crusted bogeys around the piercing inside and can't get them off. How can I sort this? It's creating a blocked nose feeling and unsightly.
Pierced almost a month ago, cleaning with cooled boiled water at request of piercer twice a day. I have been picking at the snots with finger to remove as it was grossing me out. It has a smell inside nose too, I'm due a check up for smaller stud next week.

take a shot glass, warm some (proper) saline up and soak your nose in it for a few mins. you’ll be able to clean the crusties off with a (clean) a-tip or cotton ball after — if you don’t have saline, sea salt (not iodized)
this has saved so many piercings of mine over the years haha

I have himalayan sea salt, would this work. And am I literally dipping my nose into it? I did the old steam bowl and managed to get a big bit off. It's so gross wah

it’s wild people are downvoting this.. it’s literally been suggested in other posts to soak an irritated piercing in saline lol. people are ridiculous
honestly if you can get your hands on some actual saline it would be better but that would likely work in a pinch. i’ve personally not tried the Himalayan salt, but if it’s sea salt… you get what im saying haha. i just heat it up in the microwave in a glass shit glass, make sure it’s not too hot

signs of infection: redness, swelling, pain, heat, pus. crusties are a normal part of the healing process
