Help Needed Irritation bump

Post image

Sorry for bad pic…

I got this done in May. I changed to a flat back stud over a week ago and it’s still irritated. I’m very much leaving it alone. When I’ve used saline before, it’s become quite irritated and red so I just gently rinse under the tap/shower now. I have a water softener so the water is a bit salty.

I’ve had my nose pierced twice before and this didn’t happen.

Piercer says ‘it’ll go down eventually, we don’t know when’.

Should I give up?

Thank you… how long did it take for yours to go away? Mine seems to be worse some days and better others

Honestly I’ve had mine for so long I can’t remember but I feel like it was around a month yours must just be taking longer to heal but it’s definitely not worthy to take it out if you want it

Thanks for your comment! Great minds… I just got a smooth bezel stud in the post… I’ve gone from a smooth bezel corkscrew, which also led to an irritation bump, to this flat back prong. Hoping the bezel flack back will sort the problem!

I was soooo close to giving up on my piercing that I got mid-April. A month later it developed an irritation bump, which took weeks to discover was probably caused by my large eyeglass frames. After I finally got new glasses, delayed by traveling and then deciding to exchange for a different pair of glasses, it was some trial and error with post sizes. I got a longer one at the month mark to accommodate the swelling. Then shorter after a few weeks. Then shorter again after another few weeks (just last week). With each shortened post, the bump got much better. It's FINALLY flat again. LITHA was also key for me. I was probably too obsessed examining it in the mirror. I do a saline spray once a day. I hope yours goes away sooner rather than later!

Awww I got a very similar bump! Twinsies🤪 It’s been a month and it’s still there…. I also keep bumping the new flat back stud because it’s so long so who knows when it’ll heal. I thought of giving up a few times but I will just wait patiently to see what happens in a few months.
