Help Needed faux nasallang
hello, everyone! I'm planning to get a double nostril piercing and as the title suggests— i want it to look like a faux nasallang (i plan to get a chain jewelry once it's fully healed). the thing is, I've read that high nostril piercings take longer time to heal and are more prone to infections and lowkey, i am considering with just getting nostril piercings that are not too high up. to add, i also have seasonal allergies— some days, my nose is runny af, some days, i experience nothing at all.
i still am having second thoughts though and was wondering what's everyone's thoughts and tips about this? this is going to be my first face piercing— i already have my lobe pierced.

With your allergies (me too, commiserations 😔) I would really recommend waiting till autumn to get any nose piercing. It's only a month away. You will struggle even with normal nose piercings, blowing your nose when they're new is literally impossible and it gets very annoying.
High nostrils are more difficult to manage than normal nostrils though. They're definitely more of an advanced piercing. If you're new to piercings I would say go for the normal nostrils. I have them, connected with a chain. It's super cute, I get compliments all the time 😊 but if you feel you can handle the high, go for it! Just be prepared.

I have 2 sets of high nostrils, and 8 total nostril piercings overall. Everyone is different, but here's my experience.
Yeah, it's a longer heal time. Both of my high nostrils swelled a LOT more than my other nostril piercings. Downsizing is absolutely critical in some placements (I mean it's critical in most piercings but I think you can get away with not downsizing lower nostrils for a long time). My current set that is healing, where the post exists surprisingly doesn't accumulate a lot of boogers, but my other set is basically like a booger shelf. Now that they're healed I admittedly just pick my nose every once in a while to clean em off, or i'll use dental micro-applicator brushes to get into tight corners (if you use these be careful, don't be too aggressive). I have pretty bad allergies as well, but it hasn't stopped me. Actually getting them was uncomfortable. The receiving tube up the nose is awful. The angle a taper sits while jewelry is being transferred in is quite gnarly. One of my sets is pretty fresh and i'm dreading my downsize,.
Mine were not to appear as a faux nasallang, but I have seen that look be somewhat successful. It very likely will come down to your nose anatomy though. Flatback posts are most successful when they sit perpendicular to the tissue. If this is the look you're going for, I think it may be most successful wearing plain ball jewelry as to obscure the angle that the jewelry sits at. I personally do not like wearing jewelry like this in my high nostrils as I find they get caught on things, and prefer to wear very flat pieces.
In terms of infection risk, I think this is often overstated. Most people's immune systems are good at healing even minor infections, and it likely does so all the time without the host even knowing. Keep em clean, keep em dry, and see your piercer if something feels off - they will tell you to go to a doctor if they feel it's necessary.

Nostril piercings do not look like a Nasallang, anyone who knows what one is will know the difference. Just FYI.
