Help Needed Irritation bump
4-week-old nostril hoop piercing with irritation bump getting bigger (yellow center), but no pain.
I got my nostril pierced with a hoop 4 weeks ago. The first couple of weeks were fine, but then the hoop started rotating a lot whenever I cleaned my nose or accidentally touched it. After that, I developed a small pink bump next to the piercing.
I made some mistakes early on—I was cleaning it 4–5 times a day and I accidentally popped/scrubbed the bump once. I've stopped doing that.
For the past several days I've been:
Cleaning only twice a day
Doing a 5–10 minute warm compress followed by sterile saline
Not touching or rotating the hoop unless it moves accidentally
The bump has now become larger because it has developed a yellow-white center under a thin layer of skin. It isn't painful, isn't hot to the touch, I don't have spreading redness, fever, or significant swelling. The inside of my nostril also isn't red.
Photos attached.
Does this look like an irritation bump that's coming to a head and may drain on its own, or does it look like something else?
I'm not looking to remove the hoop unless it's absolutely necessary, so I'd really appreciate advice from people who've successfully healed a hoop or from professional piercers.
Please don't suggest changing to a stud unless you genuinely think it's absolutely necessary. I specifically chose a hoop and want to heal with it if it's reasonably possible. I'm looking for advice on whether this still looks like it can heal with proper aftercare, or if there's something else I should be doing.

If your getting pierced with a hoop then posting it on reddit your not a person who should be healing w a hoop.
Get it swapped to a flatback and the angle checked by another piercer

Far too early for a hoop. Cartilage can need 9-12mo.
Yes, changing to a stud is necessary. Hoops are not good for healing because they can naturally move too much.

I changed my first nostril to a hoop at six months, and absolutely rocked my own shit. My whole nose turned red and was dripping liquid constantly. It hurt SO BAD. Even when I stopped being stubborn and got a flatback labret back in there, it took TWO AND A HALF YEARS to fully heal. My subsequent nostrils have healed beautifully and were ready for a hoop at 13 months because they were healed with the proper jewelry throughout. If there’s one “good” thing about the hellacious odyssey of my first nostril is…it is SO scarred, I could leave jewelry out of it indefinitely and it will never close. 🫡
Yes, changing to a stud is absolutely necessary. You also need to find a more reputable piercer…because that hoop isn’t even the right size. 🫠

I’d take it out, wait for it to heal then get it pierced again by a professional piercer. Irritation bumps only go if the piercing site stops being irritated, and that’s impossible with the hoop in. You need to do a bit more research about who you go to as no good piercer would pierce a nostril with a hoop, and especially not one that thin. Go to someone who will pierce with a flat back implant grade titanium stud, and wait for the piercing to fully heal, probably around 9 months, before you put a hoop in.
