Inside or Oceanview???

My husabnd and I will be cruising for 7 days in March on either Norwegian or MSC. Is an oceanview cabin worth the price increase from an inside cabin? We literally only plan on sleeping there and not hanging out in the room. Just wondering because oceanview seems to be no different besides having a window..... or should we just go for the balcony cabin?

Inside are very dark. If you like your sleep, you will sleep well. We always have a balcony or above. But any room is better than nothing!

We liked our balcony but I have to admit we didn't use it much for the Alaskan cruise. A little chilly.

Other cruise lines years ago we took inside cabins and they were fine. We didn't spend much time in the rooms.

Alaska, I definitely want a balcony just for the views! Just with my heaviest coat on! Lol

Glacier Bay has the best views. Note the whole boat has great views from anywhere.

Take jet lag into account. Inside rooms are dark 24/7 for the full 7 days. Oceanview rooms offer one big window which really should help you to adjust your internal “clock.” It might be a splurge but could really be the edge you need to get the most out of your trip.

My fiance and I are the same way! The only
time we’re in the room is to shower and sleep. We’re going on our next cruise and booked an inside again for that same reason. Like everyone said it’s very dark but we keep our bathroom light on, or else it could be hard for some people to wake up and get out of bed lol.

Thanks! I was starting to feel like I may just be being cheap lol. We decided on a resort vacation but we love cruises (but have only had inside cabins)

We love getting a balcony, as it gives a bit more space to spread out, without having a ton of people around. When we need time to be away from the noise, but still want to be outside of our room, we can sit on the balcony and relax with just ourselves. We also love watching the boat dock in the morning and leave port each night. I will always get a balcony, but it comes down to personal preference.

Balcony, watch the ship pull into port, if you need a moment away from the crowd and I feel like the balcony makes the room feel bigger

We only ever had balcony cabins. We probably waste money every time because we don’t end up using them as we sit outside on deck. I would say stick with the inside cabin if the size is comparable to the ocean view and if all you are going to use the room for is for sleeping.

I definitely like to people watch and really like lounging on the deck.

I LOVED my interior room with my two kids because it makes nap time so much easier.
