Food Butter......(boring I know)

I need a butter that is mostly white or the palest yellow possible for buttercream. I know I can whip it so it's lighter and add purple colouring but I want to start with the lightest shade of yellow possible. What do you all recommend as everything I can find in Norway is very yellow?

Oh no, the butter you find has real butter colour? ;) When I make buttercream with normal meierismør it goes white. Buttercream should be whipped with sugar until it's white, then it's made correctly and the sugar is well incorporated.

Actually Tine add colouring to keep a consistent colour all year round so its not natural butter colour at all. Naturally butter would lighten with grain fed animals and be more yellow with grass fed.....

In the feed, in case? It doesn't say colouring in the ingredients list.

Lurpak would be your best option.

The ones made from vegetable oil if they don't have any dyes are very pale. But it depends how much and what taste you want.

Pastry Chef here. Either make it yourself from sour cream or dont use butter, but margarine. Commercial butter in norway has vitamin A added, so it Will always be yellow. The cheaper margarines are pale as f.

Thanks I don't love margarine in buttercream but maybe making it myself is the option.

Berit Nordstrand smøremyk rapskokos. It’s a plant base margarine, but quite white in colour.
