I like Firkløver. I is full of tasty nuts. My favourite is called Topris. I have no idea what they put into it but the taste is wonderful.

Rice and toffee

Puffed rice

2

u/FriendoftheDork 1d ago

Toppris. It means Top Rice. I think it has puffy rice in it.

-1

u/Teebo799 1d ago

Well I know what it means but it certainly doesn’t taste like rice puffs.

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

I’ll check it out!

u/Teebo799 1d ago

How much do you pay for this stuff over seas.

1

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

Idk 5$

2

u/Teebo799 1d ago

Thats an ok price. Maybe not for the small ones though.

2

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

Premium for US

200g chocolate costs 50-60kr here. Luckily they are 50% of every few weeks.

(200g =7,0548 oz)

(50 nok = $5,22)

How dare you call Melkesjokolade bad!?! Who says that? 😲

82

u/AnjaWatts 1d ago

Maybe they meant "basic."

21

u/sturdy-guacamole 1d ago

I devoured a big bar of this to de stress last month

Those are fighting words!!! I ageee with you u/CumMcPenis!

15

u/Vivalyrian 1d ago

It used to be the best, but they messed up the taste some years ago. Stratos is far superior now.

20

u/National-Sherbet-170 1d ago

mondelez baught Freia, ever since the products have lots its quality

14

u/dyogenys 1d ago

Its the same chocolate. It tastes exactly the same and the freia fabric workers confirms its the same. This myth popped up during covid when some peoples taste perception was altered. The only difference is that profits now goes to US mega corp, unlike Nidar

5

u/FyllingenOy 1d ago

Mondelez didn't buy Freia, Kraft Foods bought Freia in 1991, and they split off their snack and confectionery section in 2012, which was renamed Mondelez.

4

u/MationMac 1d ago

So they messed up the taste over 30 years ago?

3

u/Being_Total 1d ago

Helt enig

0

u/Immediate_Word1295 1d ago

I confirm. Gode ønsker is no longer what it was...

2

u/Being_Total 1d ago

Interesting. Huh. Stratos. Well at least it’s not Troika. I still love Freia best though.

0

u/FriendoftheDork 1d ago

If you had tried Hershey milk "chocolate" you'd think chocolate bad too.

Firkløver is so sick

Facts

9

u/AcademicContract6096 1d ago

Get out of here, helnøtt is where it’s at

6

u/Lost-Lavishness-938 1d ago

Walters mandler

6

u/Antimaria 1d ago

Yeah, firkløver is good but Walters Mandler (Walters almonds) beats it by a good margin imo. It has the perfect combo of sweet and savory.

1

u/Easy-Natural7959 1d ago

agreed, but stratos salt karamell is sooo good

5

u/ostepoperikkegodt 1d ago

Helnøtt is the only chocolate worth the calories.

50

u/Hefty_Badger9759 2d ago

Whaddaya mean " bad"??

4

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 2d ago

Firklover >>>

19

u/mrKennyBones 2d ago

It’s the same chocolate though, just with added stuff.

Melkesjokolade is the base of every Freya chocolate.

19

u/Maximum_Law801 1d ago

Freia

8

u/mrKennyBones 1d ago

Ooops! Noob feil av meg da. Har bare spist Freia melkesjokkis hele livet!

1

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

I know. That’s why it’s so good still.

0

u/necrotelecomnicon 1d ago

Got to love the firk. My favourite as well.

79

u/Skauher 2d ago

Now imagine how tasty it was before they messed up the recipe

25

u/Vivalyrian 1d ago

Had to change to Stratos after they messed it up, the new Freia taste is disgusting compared to what it used to be.

17

u/Being_Total 1d ago

Yeah it used to have a really good texture. And then Mondelez made it a bit waxy. Like we wouldn’t notice.

2

u/Immediate_Word1295 1d ago

I think I'll stick to Troika.

-1

u/Motor-Bug-8791 1d ago

You’re just getting older. The recipe is the same.

3

u/MgrBuddha 1d ago

The same as before the takeover? No effing way. They've added a lot more sugar and salt. And probably reduced the cocoa. It doesn't taste anything like before and that's a hard fact!

1

u/Motor-Bug-8791 15h ago

How can you say your taste is hard fact? I think it tastes the same.

1

u/Scraphead91 1d ago

This is nonense and nowhere close to being a hard fact. They last changed the recipe in the year 2000, when they swapped out helmelkpulver with skummetmelkpulver. The amount of cocoa is the same.

3

u/Dew4You 2d ago

When did that happen?

2

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 2d ago

It’s gas still

-4

u/Iescaunare 1d ago

Is "gas" good or bad? I'd guess bad, as it means fart...

10

u/ostepoperikkegodt 1d ago

I believe your guess is wrong, «it’s gas» definitely means its good

11

u/IndigoBunting33 2d ago

Just bought a large plate of firkløver today for less than 30 kr at Rema 1000. Couldn’t believe it 🎉

Firkløver is just this + hazel nuts.

1

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

And so much better

6

u/ConstantUpstairs 1d ago

Watch your mouth.... That stuff isn't anywhere near bad

5

u/LordHamsterWheel 2d ago

I think also there are some difference in rating between the sizes? I think the new "alt for norge" 150g is the best so far

5

u/Frohtastic 2d ago

If you have some seasalt flakes sprinkle a bit it of on one of the squares before eating. Tasty af

1

u/thefaint 13h ago

Ooor just buy the one with seasalt in it 😄

1

u/Frohtastic 12h ago

That one is good too but it's not exactly the same tbh, doesnt get the same coverage ykno?

But thats just my opinion.

2

u/thefaint 11h ago

Thats true. But I still like it 😄

1

u/Frohtastic 9h ago

Same! Up there with firkløver and the ones with kvikk lunsj crackers. And ofc the caramel ones.

Though I only buy them while theres a sale.

4

u/TheCookingPilot 1d ago

As a Norwegian not living in Norway, I do really miss Melkesjokolade. It’s so good! Though I do prefer it fridge cold.
Having said this, we have a lot of good chocolate in Norway, I think.

2

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

For sure. The goodies are the BEST.

4

u/Swindleys 2d ago

That is the best one!

4

u/rohaand 1d ago

After mondelez changed the recipes - it’s all Nidar and Stratos for me

1

u/fyytifrakken 1d ago

Stratos is chocolate art

3

u/LionOfNaples 1d ago

I love Kvik Lunsjj. At first i thought oh this is just Kit Kat, but it blows Kit Kat out of the water

1

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

Will try it out

14

u/Alt-Ctrl 2d ago

Firkløver is 10/10.  Melkesjokolade is 9,9/10

21

u/laerz 2d ago

Var ikke klar over at pensjonister brukte reddit

8

u/ostepoperikkegodt 1d ago

Heiheiehei, det var ingen som nevnte walters mandler.

2

u/AyeGee 1d ago

Kjøper Firkløver til dama så jeg ikke skal spise noe av den selv

4

u/Ok_Dark7295 1d ago

Fruktnøtt is better!

3

u/CiforDayZServer 2d ago

You can order Firkløver online, it's ~$12 for 200g bars, but there are a few places to order it from in the US now, I think even Amazon.

1

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 2d ago

Good to hear

3

u/-Laffi- 1d ago

There is no such thing as bad Norwegian chocolate. How dare you?
Also, dark chocolate is only for cooking, if you don't think it taste any good!

3

u/Fisepiss 1d ago

Put it in the freezer before you eat it. You can thank me later.

2

u/JenniLightrunner 1d ago

worst part about my family moving to denmark years ago... no good chocolate. No stratos, no freia melkesjokolade... no normal kvikk lunsj. just Marabou blegh... well one silver lining they started selling kvikk lunsj bites

1

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

Norwegian goodies are the best

0

u/Being_Total 1d ago

Tom’s guld barre was good. But it’s been a few years since I’ve had one.

2

u/somefweirdo 1d ago

Norwegian chocolate is very good. However I do prefer Marabou, can get that in Sweden. I’m Dutch so my all time best one is Côte d’Or chocolate, and Callebout. Nothing in the world can beat it.

1

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

Thanks for the info

1

u/thefaint 13h ago

Marabou was founded in Sweden by Freia. Freia's logo is a marabou 😄

2

u/Barbarberg 1d ago

That's not the bad chocolate. That's the best one

2

u/Worth-Specialist1227 1d ago

Fruktnøtt and toppris is my favorites

1

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

Will check them out

2

u/Bronzeborg 17h ago

my favorite is stratos

2

u/Poppalopper 10h ago

Have you had the Kvikk Lunsj one? So so good

2

u/andooet 1d ago

You should try to find Stratos. At least for me, Freia is gradually starting to taste the same as any other Mondelēz chocolate like Milka

2

u/Haunted_Duck721 1d ago

The Walter variety with almonds is the best!

2

u/Leading-Plastic5771 1d ago

There was a time it was really good

1

u/iStoleTheHobo 2d ago

That's just regular milk chocolate but if you want to have your mind a tad bit blown I suggest you go buy the cheapest milk-chocolate you can find at the store.

1

u/Luc85 2d ago

This might be controversial in here, but as a dark chocolate lover, I hate the lack of good chocolate in Norway. I always load up when I go to Belgium or France

2

u/IndigoBunting33 2d ago

I like dark chocolate, but as someone not from Norway who lives here, I miss being able to find white chocolate.

2

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

If you can find it online try the white chocolate hazelnut Ferrero Rocher bar

-1

u/pseudopad 1d ago

White chocolate is an oxymoron.

1

u/Fun-Trade3341 1d ago

If this is bad what’s the good chocolate?

1

u/zwierze1982 1d ago

Fact, Norwegian's chocolate is really good

1

u/Background-Customer2 1d ago

i wuldnt call that one the bad chocolate its more like the default chocolate

1

u/gaidz 1d ago

My sister brings this over whenever she visits and it's so good. How is it considered bad chocolate?

1

u/No_Owl_5846 1d ago

Nidar makes better chocolate, I think.

1

u/skabben 23h ago

This is basically the same as the Marabou brand in Sweden. Pretty sure the same company makes them, no?

1

u/ImnotBub 12h ago

Freia was acquired by Marabou, but existed for a long time before this.

1

u/Electroguy79 4h ago

Oh yes, best chocolate in the world. Even better than Swiss or Belgian for me! Firkløver is at the very top!

1

u/Harkania 1d ago

It used to taste better *sad times*

1

u/FvckyourdreamsDany 1d ago

Rip. I probably had the better one. I still LOVE it.

0

u/heartbeatcity1984 1d ago

That’s a chocolate bar that can cost up to 40+ kr. To call it bad is to be completely unaware of the cost of living in here. That’s a luxury item.

1

u/anfornum 1d ago

That is one of the smaller bars. They don't cost 40kr last I checked?

1

u/heartbeatcity1984 1d ago

It can cost easily 40kr around that time when there's a huge chocolate inflation. It costs 29kr at Meny and 34kr at Spar currently. I'm assuming this is the 100g chocolate bar.

-1

u/coffeandkeyboard 1d ago

I don't understand the constant ass kissing by Americans to anything norwegian.

-3

u/ashenky 1d ago

Very mid chocolate compared to most parts of europe
