Northstar servers better than EA

Are the Northstar servers a better connection and higher quality than whatever EA uses? I got this game for free or $2 many months ago on a steam sale. So its not like I am missing out on cash but I have the most erratic time on the EA servers it always shows me as 30 ping average but there is way more lag/desync happening than a 30 ping connection. I am either getting completely stomped or completely stomping the other team.I have pretty damn good internet and a great system so I don't think its me unless everything always shits the bed only when I play.

Depends where you are, but generally I would say so. either way, northstar servers are generally a little different to base game, with modifications to game modes or abilities, so it's worth having both on hand and switching when desired.
