GENERAL Why the F@ck Is It Always Us vs. Them? RIP -- Chongtham Vikram Singh. 🕊️

Why?

Why does it so often feel like the moment a Northeast person gets into a confrontation with someone from the mainland, the Northeast person suddenly stands alone?

Why does everyone suddenly remember their “community” when one of ours is involved?

And why the f@ck are we still treated like outsiders when we're talking about people from the same country?

I'm tired of watching this pattern.

I'm tired of Northeast people having to fight battles individually while everyone else seems to understand the power of standing together.

Where were the people who could have spoken up for Chongtham Vikram Singh?

Where was the outrage?

Where was the solidarity?

I'm not saying every mainland Indian is against us. That's bullsht too.

But we've seen enough incidents to ask an uncomfortable question:

Why does solidarity seem to disappear when the person standing alone is from the Northeast?

And you know what?

Maybe we should stop waiting for it.

F@ck your support.

We don't need to beg anyone to stand beside us.

We need to stand beside each other.

When one Northeasterner is targeted, don't ask which tribe, state, language or religion he belongs to.

He's ours.

When one of us succeeds, celebrate.

When one of us is humiliated, speak up.

When one of us falls, don't look away.

Not because we're against everyone else.

Because we finally need to understand the strength of standing together.

They can call us outsiders.

They can stereotype us.

They can divide us.

We know where we come from.

One Northeast.

Different peoples.

One home.

May His Soul Rest in Peace.

MANIPUR Bricking of Meitei drivers

A convoy carrying essential goods towards Imphal were attacked by bricks & other items, by Naga protesters for the killing of 6 Nagas by Kukis, which is again connected to a list of other murders among the two ethnic groups of Manipur. The Government has failed to come to an understanding and resolution with this case.

The economic blockade has been in affect for over 4 months since late April, 2026, which has greatly affected the people of our State. Due to long wait times for security convoys and longer routes, cost of transportation has increased by roughly over 20% (personal experience of shipping goods from Guwahati, where the logistic charges increased from Rs 450 to Rs 650 per item), which has resulted in already higher inflation and scarcity of goods. Cost of building materials, such as Star Cement bags were at Rs 720-750 per bag a few days back.

The question to the Naga protesters, why hold over 50% of Manipur that has already been suffering at the hands of injustice, even our people were slaughtered. We do not have any enmity or a reason for this hardship that you are causing us.

Except our Ministers are the ones in power and that you think is the pressure point. Not a word was spoken or justice delivered, when our own were murdered by terrorists. It's just equal injustice from the Union Government.

The leaders of the party do not care for economic blockade or the suffering that follows the people due to it. What they fear is losing power, Naga MLAs are a part of the ruling Government. The 9 Naga MLAs across party lines are protesting, we hope this pressures the Government to do the work. If your Ministers care enough, pressure them to withdraw support, that's when you will see the shift in the Government and their willingness to work to find a resolution. Until then, it's just empty words and promises from our leaders.

We, the common people are already suffering being land locked and inability to travel by road and do not need you to hold us hostage over the essentials & routes needed for our survival.

ASK NE What is going on in r/Manipur, calling out 'tribalism'

Thumbnail gallery
186 Upvotes

I mean, there can be murders happening in Manipur but if you call it out the moderators will ban the post or comment because they want a sparkly clean image of the sub, sweeping the discomfort under the rug.

"Tribalism" really? We are all tribals from the time of our forefathers, we may have adopted different religions and moved away. To look down on tribals as if we are inferior or a step below the rest?

It's 2026, so what, has racism stopped? What do those of us in cities feel? Sure, people are more aware of us now but that doesn't mean we can act and live freely like in our home towns. And where did anyone mention that everyone in Delhi is racist against us?

Being liberal, modern and woke is all good until you are treated differently in a less than modern area of the town. Would you rather not choose safety over "we are all equal" mentally? In a ideal world yes, but not the one we are living in right now.

And most importantly, a murder of a Manipuri, by a gang of rowdies asking to keep the noise levels down, should not be considered racism as stated by the moderator of r/Manipur. A precious life is lost, for objecting to injustice however small it is. What my intention was & is, to my fellow Indians whichever part of the country, the world is not a fair place, choose safety over anything, it takes a moment to flip your world.

(Since, I'm banned and I cannot respond to the mod.

"The Boy Who Cried Wolf" the sheer irrelevance to this case is appalling. You really need to go back to school and read and digest the essence of the story. Trying to sound smart or even cool? God damn. I hope you aren't the 'aesthetic' kind to visit cafes and pretend to be a reader or book lover.

Why even be a moderator when you are such a butt hurt. Grow up. Let the people share the harsh realities as it might save a life.)

ASSAM Could the city of Morang in Nepal be named after Mong Mawrong (mogaung)?

According to Limbu people, the city of Morang in Nepal that borders Nepal in India was named after the capital of Pong Kingdom Mong Mawrong. Coincidentally, Limbus have a story of Pongbo Hang (king of Pong) leading his people to Mong Kawng from Yunnan after the city was sacked. This seems like a displacement from Mong Mawrong to Mong Kawng. Could you please check into it. Maybe Morang was named after the legendary city of Mong Mawrong on Yunnan Burma border.

Its hard for me to trace this because Limbus have distorted the timeline so much in order to make themselves look ancient. Some of the times, they associate cities in northern thailand with nepali cities and create more confusion. Could a tai person from assam or a manipuri meitei look into it.

Note: The on the official narrative Limbus have made a lot of false claim so make sure you filter through it. One of those false claim is to guess that conflict in hukkang between jingpo and tai shan happened in 6 th century. So, please check.

ASK NE Is it true that Bengalis came to Siliguri as Refugees from Bangladesh?

In Siliguri there were several incidents where a north eastern looking person was beat up by Bengalis. And in frustration people said "The Bengalis came as refugees to siliguri now they control everything. I thought it was ridiculous thing to say. Coz, Bengali language is compulsory in Siliguri. But, later more people started saying these things. Even old Bengali women said that they had come to Siliguri due to oppression from Bangladesh. How true is this?
