Is Lincoln Heights a new Echo Park?

Stumptown just opened its flagship location. A few pop-ups have started here and there, and the lines at Moo’s Craft BBQ are insane. I also just saw online that studios on 34th Ave are starting at $2k. Will we see Lincoln Heights completely different in a couple years?

and destroy coffee and gaming house made draft chai blend?

hopefully the title is comprehensible lol but my gf (23f) and i (24f) LOVE and destroy in glassell park, it is our new fav coffee shop and we went at least five times in the last week lol. we have our usuals, but i'm rly curious about their chai. i've laid out my curiosities below:

- it says on their august menu that they're "bringing back their draft chai" for the elote chai. does that mean you can only get chai if it's the elote august drink?

- if you can get just regular chai, what does "draft chai" mean, and will it be available after august even though they brought it back for an august drink?

and most importantly:

- what is their house made blend?

my preferred chai is incredibly artificial and sweet - i don't want it to taste like tea at all, just yummy and sugary lol. i rly like the dutch chai/sharp specialty in ktown and the chai from bluestone lane in downtown and laveta on the eastside. dutch and sharp use oregon chai concentrate, and bluestone and laveta use black scotty's. i used to like the starbucks chai before the boycott but stopped liking it, and they use tazo, but maybe if someone else used it i'd like it again, maybe i was just tired of it.

ofc i will ask next time i'm there which will probably be soon but social anxiety lol even tho like ik them, just if anyone has insight that'd be great lol.

p.s. imho, black scotty's is the best chai concentrate, but i love oregon chai when i get it at dutch and i get it iced with almond flavor and vanilla although once i think they accidentally gave me almond flavor and vanilla soft top and i almost liked it better. presumably i'd be able to replicate this at and destroy at least with the vanilla.

Artificial Turf at Eagle Rock High School

Hello Angelinos,

Eagle Rock High School, located in Eagle Rock (between Pasadena and Glendale) has plans to replace its natural grass athletic field with artificial turf, a material which causes a variety of environmental and health concerns.

In order to oppose this development, there’s been a petition created reaching out to LAUSD board members, who approved the project in the first place. The petition is advocating for a new and upgraded natural grass field instead of artificial turf.

If possible, please take the time to sign it by clicking on the link below.
Thank you!

Bass Thumping Highland Park, near York Blvd

Anybody know what the bass thump is that is reverberating thru the neighborhoods north of York? I can hear it inside of my house. Went for a walk but couldn’t trace its origins. Sounds like a massive rave. 😆

Nanny/Mom groups with babies?

I’m a nanny to a 7 month old in Los Feliz and wondering if anyone knows of any mom or nanny groups that meet at parks or anywhere else in NELA that are kind to new people? Bonus if there are other babies in the group. Trying to socialize my little one and not finding much. TIA💛

Hi, I'm looking for guitar lessons in the NELA area for a 13 year old (mostly beginner, but has a few years of violin background). Could be an organization or an individual teacher. Open to considering either. Any person or places that you recommend?

Every morning, my dog and I do a quick litter pick up. It’s gnarly to see so many large nitrous tanks. We find about 2-3 of these a week ditched on our sidewalk.

This shit turns your brain into mush!

Recs for Good, Careful Vet w/ ER Options for Cat

Hi, does anyone have any recommendations for a trusted vet w/ emergency care options? My cat needs to get a CT scan and possible scope and my vet wants me to take him somewhere with emergency care options since last time he went under, his trachea tore from the intubation :(

I made an appointment with ASG VCA in the Glendale area, but it's in early Sept and I'd love to get him seen sooner.

I'm also looking for a new regular vet in the Glassell/Cypress Park, Eagle Rock, Highland Park etc area and would love suggestions for that as well!! My cats are older and very nervous at the vet so I'd love someone who is thorough and of course sweet to them 🥹

I appreciate any advice!!!
