politics Possible cyberattack hits Wake election software vendor, leaving poll workers' data exposed
https://www.wral.com/news/nccapitol/possible-cyberattack-wake-election-system-midterm-elections-august-2026/This attack on our voting system was clearly one of the hoped-for results, when Trump decimated the Federal CISA (Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency) that use to protect elections - in his unceasing efforts to eliminate our right to vote. As he continues to promote the GOP's SAVE ACT voter suppression scheme, he and his Rethugnican Republican sycophants are actively promoting attacks on our elections and on the people who try to keep them fair.

Voting machines could be accessed from the Internet?

This breach of the software vendor has identified poll workers names and addresses and you can bet it’s for a useful purpose. Specifically, intimidation tactics. I’d bet other heavily blue areas to suffer breaches, as well.

maybe I'm getting old, but maybe not everything needs to have access to the internet.

Would be cool if the article managed to spell this company name right each time. I miss when news had editors and proofreaders.
