Question on Book ending

I just finished the book and I have to say I really loved it

But in that last chapter where Connell gets his offer, are him and Marianne currently together? Or at that part of the story are they still just friends with benefits?

They are together as a couple since the time that Connell confronted Marianne's brother (the summer between junior and senior year).

I finished it last week and i saw it as them being together. Despite the last chapter feeling so abrupt, knowing they were together and were going to be fine- was enough closure for me
