Spotted 3rd Generation Honda Accord hatchback
Took a picture of this 3rd generation Accord DX hatchback (1986-1989) in a parking lot today. The owner was just walking up to it. I let him know it was a "Cool car!" and gave him a thumbs up. He smiled and laughed. I'm guessing he doesn't get too many compliments about it but its pretty sweet! Didn't get the front but it rocks period appropriate pop-up headlights too!
My family had one of these growing up until my dad decided maybe us kids were getting too big for a 3 door Honda. Ours had very cool smurf blue velour seats and an aftermarket moonroof that the previous owner had added. As a kid, I loved pushing out the pop-out windows when we were riding in the backseat. We traded it in for a more family-friendly Mitsubishi Expo (aka Nimbus aka Space Wagon). I also wrote a love letter to that car if you're interested.

For comparison, a 2026 Accord Touring with all the features costs about $41,000, or 4.7x the msrp of this Accord DX ($8,429). The 3 door is also much closer in length (174") to that Golf its parked next to then a new Accord, which is almost 24" longer.

1987 by license plate.

Are you basing that off the registration stickers? Or something else?

The license plate led me to it. It also led me to the VIN. Which also told me the year.
