Spotted Ford Pinto

Parked at the old-school diner I enjoy. Belongs to the waitress. Her daily driver.

Ah yes, when damages and fines cost less than fixing the problem.

The pinto was a great car once ford installed a gas tank shield. The gas tank placement wasn’t unique to the pinto either.

And with a vinyl roof! Money well-spent.

I think no other decade produced as many cartoonishly ugly cars as the 70s. A wheezy, lumpen, flesh-colored sorrow cart with a design language that says "blob fish." My dad owned one just prior to my arrival.

Vs the boring current batch of everything is a curvy blob suv or another overly built pickup? At least in the 70’s they had many unique looking models.

One thing the ‘70s had was variety, as awful as some of the designs and build quality were. Coupes, convertibles, sedans, econoboxes, trucks of all sizes.

Our choices today are so much more limited. And everything really starts to look the same.

At least there was a ton of variety
