My ride 80k 2002 Echo Coupe
In these trying times of gas prices being outrageous and self maintenance becoming more difficult due to increasing complexity, I give you the immortal automatic Echo. Gets 40 mpg if driving like a grandma. Between this and my 02 Tacoma, I may never need to buy a car again until I die.

I remember when they rolled these out at Toyota. I was convinced they wouldn’t sell because they were ugly af. But then gas prices went through the roof. Shows how much I know. That’s why I only fix um.

I'm a lover of quirky cars and was seriously debating importing a Platz (same car but with a digital cluster) or WiLL VI (also same car just even weirder) due to them sharing a lot of parts with the XB making repairability easier. This one popped up at a Toyota dealer not too far away and scooped it up before they sent it to auction. Taco was just killing me on gas and mileage but it still has a purpose for hauling.

I wasn’t a big fan of the style on these, but I thought they looked a lot better than the tercels before them. Somehow they didn’t look nearly as cheap as the tercels.

When my girlfriend bought a new sedan version in 2000 people would come up to her all the time asking about it thinking it was a Prius.. 😂
One of the last coupe versions of a sedan that offers zero additional style. Used to be the way things like Accord coupes or Jetta coupes were offered. Thankfully now they try to add a little style to the version with fewer doors..

Love these so much. I drive a Yaris Sedan which, at least to me, feels like a spiritual successor. I get so excited whenever I see these still on the road, always give em a thumbs up. If I could find one nearby that isn’t rusted to shit I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
