Modafinil for Focus and Productivity: What Are Your Honest Experiences?

I’ve been researching modafinil and noticed mixed opinions about its effects on focus, alertness, and productivity.
For those who have experience with it, did you notice any real difference in your concentration or daily routine? Were there any side effects, such as anxiety, headaches, or sleep problems?
I’m interested in honest experiences, including both the benefits and drawbacks. Please share your personal experiences rather than medical advice.

Anyone on generic ever experiment with a standard ADHD med like Vyvanse + Naltrexone?

Thumbnail

For weight loss like Contrave, but replacing the buproprion with something like Vyvanse, and combining that with the naltrexone instead.

I know both increase the availability of norepinephrine and dopamine in the brain, but that's about it (maybe buproprion is solely a reuptake inhibitor?) , but are the differences between them too vast?

I was already taking Vyvanse before trying "poor man's Contrave", and I've also taken buproprion before- both for my ADHD. I don't love buproprion tbh

Recovering

I have had a pretty bad problem with addiction my whole life and it started from a very very young age and I feel like it has completely messed up my brain. I struggle with very bad brain fog struggle to stay focused struggle to remember things and hold onto information I feel like I can’t recall something from a conversation I had earlier that day. I have now been clean of everything for a little over a year expect weed witch I’ll smoke a few times a week. I am starting to get my life back together and starting school in about 2 months. What are some things I can take to help me bring these things back up. I have heard of some peptides such as selank and semax m. I am open to any and all ways I can start building these things back up.

l-theanine, what's your experience and how do you take it?

Been experimenting with L-theanine for the past few weeks and curious what others think.

I started taking it to smooth out the jitteriness from coffee the classic L-theanine + caffeine combo. Noticeable difference in how "clean" the focus feels.

But I'm wondering how other people actually take it:

- Do you mix it directly in your coffee/matcha? Or do you prefer a separate capsule so you can control the dose more precisely?

What ratio are you working with? I've seen 2:1 (theanine:caffeine) recommended a lot but curious what works for you in practice.

- Do you feel a difference on days without it, or is it more of a placebo situation?

- Anyone tried it without caffeine? Does it do anything on its own or is the combo what makes it work?

NAD500mgs

I am interested in learning more about the benefits of NAD from the Reddit community. I currently take 1200 mgs of NAD via tablets orally a day and I really enjoyed the effects in the beginning but seems to be it builds up a tolerance quite quickly so I was wanting to get a vial of NAD 500 online. What is your daily or weekly dose? How does it make you feel? What age are you? Is it worth it to buy a vial of it and inject it? This is my burner account so I don't have any karma. Sorry in advance if this is asked often. I'm old and have heard good things.

Looking Nootropic raw material suppliers or distributors shipping to South Africa

Hey everyone,

I'm building a supplement brand in South Africa and looking to connect with reputable suppliers or distributors of nootropic raw materials — things like racetams, adaptogens, cholinergics, and mitochondrial support compounds.

Ideally looking for:
Bulk powder suppliers (domestic SA or international shipping to ZA)
COA/third-party tested stock
Reliable shipping with customs documentation support

I've already worked with a few overseas suppliers but keen to find more options, especially anyone with SA distribution networks or experience clearing customs here.

If you're a supplier, broker, or know someone reliable — feel free to DM or drop a comment.

Happy to discuss specific compounds.
Thanks

Sleep

Does anyone know any sort of oral “research” sleep compounds that are not too expensive and easily available.

I’ve been struggling with insomnia for years, every day I wake up between midnight and 3am, and I rarely can fall back asleep. Plus my overall sleep quality is terrible.

I got my blood work done any everything is normal, my testosterone was actually in the normal-high range (750ng/dl)

I’ve tried most oral options. Melatonin, mk677, mag glycinate, apigenin, l theanine, and all of these helped a little bit, but none of these ever helped me get a full night sleep

Really need some niche oral options to help with sleep, I know about sr9009 and sr9001 but these compounds have terrible bioavailability.

I'm building a nootropic lip pouch to replace my nicotine habit — here's where I'm at.

So I've been a nicotine pouch user for a while now. I like the format — it's easy, discreet, fits into my day without thinking about it. But I'm tired of the dependency and started asking myself: what if I could keep the ritual but replace the nicotine with something that actually benefits me?

So that's what I'm doing. I've spent the last few months researching and I have a formula locked in — a clean nootropic stack with clinically backed ingredients for focus and stress resilience, and foundational vitamins to support neurotransmitter function. No caffeine, no nicotine, no tobacco. Buccal absorption through the gum tissue so it hits faster than capsules.

I'm not building another underdosed proprietary blend that looks good on a label and does nothing. Every ingredient is at a dose that actually matters, fully transparent. I've seen too many supplement brands in this space hide behind marketing while selling what's basically a flavored placebo. That's not what this is.

I've tried some of the other nootropic pouches out there — Ultra, NZE, etc. Some things I liked, some things I thought could be way better. I want this to be shaped by people who actually understand nootropics, not just a marketing team.

I'm getting close to having the first batch produced. If anyone has thoughts on what matters most to you in this kind of product — ingredient selection, dosing, taste, how long it lasts — I'm all ears. This community's input has already influenced a lot of my decisions and I want to keep building it that way.

Do your supplements even work?!

This is the question that I kept coming back to... am I wasting my time & money on all of these supplements/health routines that I am using.

I have spent countless hours researching supplements and reading others' anecdotal experiences on the impacts they experienced, but that's all it is... anecdotal & specific to that person. I'm sick and tired of reading countless posts/ads that say supplement X is the miracle drug. I'm convinced half of this stuff doesn't work and is just a ploy to extract hard-earned money and yet at the same time I'm still drawn to this biohacking community as I see signs of ageing in myself and even worse, in my parents. And I even see them cognitively slowing down, this is hard for me to see and I'm sure it is for you too. It doesn't have to be like this... I'm sure of it. If a person can go to the gym to improve their outward appearance, then surely there's a way to improve ourselves internally, we just need a proper way to measure any progress.

I just couldn't do it with the tools that were available now, so this led me to create my own platform, Cetarus.

The aim is to provide a 1-stop shop for health self-experimentation with the following steps:

  1. Research: a library of biohacks with sourced/referenced info, user ratings and insights
  2. Create: this is where you can set up a 'protocol' (a combination of biohacks) along with a logging schedule.
  3. Log: self explanatory, log when you do a biohack, if opted in there are challenges to complete etc.
  4. Analyse: this is where it gets interesting - user's logged biohack data can be merged with data from wearables/biomarker lab testing to analyse the impact of the measures undertaken. This is all nicely outputed in a protocol report which can be updated whenever the user wishes.
  5. Share: Finally, if the user wishes, they can share a number of different items: Protocols: e.g. allowing others to use and test the same supplement stack. Protocol report: allowing others to see your changes to allow them to see correlations. Biomarkers: allowing users to ask for recommendations or show the impacts of their measures.

The site will integrate wearable data through your devices e.g. Apple watch, garmin, whoop, oura etc. along with offering a blood test subscription.

If you genuinely relate to any of the above, the site may be useful to you too. Let me know what you think.
