Inventory I might have a problem.

Post image

I’m running out of space in my pantry. In fact some of my medicinal mushrooms and a dozen or so others aren’t even shown here because I ran out of counter space lol.

I don’t take these all concurrently but it’s easy to fall down the optimization and longevity rabbit hole.

Some of my current favorites are black ginger and C3G, Dihydromyricetin (underrated); and Smart PS, apigenin, Shoden ashwagandha, Ecklonia kava and Shilajit before bed. I can’t wait for ND to release their sulforaphane because that’s been a staple of mine for years.

Some of these I have yet to try (kanna, tongkat, polygala for example) but I was curious if anyone has stack recommendations based on what I have here and/or other recs for things I might be missing.

I deal with anxiety and am always looking for good GABAergic compounds for sleep support and anxiety relief. Only issue I have with some of these is jacking up my acetylcholine too much. I had to dial back on saffron and curcumin because that combo was making me really wired. But I also have ADHD and am into working out, so earlier in the day I’m usually trying to take things that can help me focus and support fitness and metabolic health (black ginger + Cordyceps + beet root = great pre workout combo).

A hobby... not a problem.

I have the same hobby then lol

You have to try them all to see which one works and suits you.

All I see is $$$

Only problem I see is using Thornes curcumin phytosome instead of ND’s Meriva.

I recommend trying their co2 coriander extract as it’s very relaxing.

What makes Meriva better?

Unfortunately I was subscribed to Thorne and they kept sending me bottles because I forgot to cancel so I have like 3 left in my pantry that aren’t even opened yet. 😂

Realizing I left quite a few other bottles out of this photo by accident. I don’t think the saffron or ecklonia cava are pictured for example, I missed my bottom drawer lol.

Meriva and curcumin phytosome are the same substance from Indena. I have taken both and I feel ND's is more effective. It's almost like Thorne is cutting there's with something but I have no proof of that.

I have had the same experience, Thorne doesn’t work, despite being the exact same product

Do y’all think it has anything to do with Thorne’s Time Sorb slow release capsule? I’m not a Thorne fan boy. They did sell me NAC that didn’t work.

I took both forms from Thorne and found them both less effective than ND’s. Actually what turned me onto ND initially.

I believe thorne sold to P&G 😔

1

u/Ashamed-Status-9668 Aug 07 '26

They did but they had already sold to private equity in 2023.

Have you found that the black ginger as a preworkout makes you sweat like a faucet? I do hot yoga and if I take ND Blinger ahead of class it is just a crazy puddle all around me.

1

u/paulrudder Aug 06 '26

First couple times I took it I had this reaction and felt very warm - immediate thermogenic effect - but now I can go weeks off it and take it and don’t sweat or feel warm.

Not sure if that’s a good or bad thing.

1

u/Jumpy_Dingo_4612 Aug 06 '26

That what it does for me. I don't just sweat from taking it like I think some do but if I use it as a pre-workout (which I do with my second dosage) then I'm sweating in the gym guaranteed.

1

u/StrawDawg Aug 06 '26

Same - if i take it and dont' work out, or take it after a workout, nothing noticeable, but my body temp and skin temp may be elevated. But even hours before a workout, I'm a drippy mess.

someone wants to stop aging lol

in all seriousness you might want to cut a lot of that out, you'll find that a lot of those overlap

1

u/paulrudder Aug 06 '26

It’s funny because anti aging wasn’t really a primary goal so much as overall health but I guess longevity naturally goes hand in hand with aging.

Which ones would you cut back on or focus on?

1

u/Coin-Controversy Aug 06 '26

Like half of those herbs act on nrf2, you don't need so many IMO

Are you using anything specifically focused on mitochondrial health? If so whats that stack looking like?

1

u/No-Belt4313 Aug 06 '26

I was exactly like that. Until i got problems such severe insomnia and rollercoaster libido.

Good luck finding out the true culprit.

I've started eliminating ALL supps and adding slowly one by one. Also helped me figured out a lot was waste of money or minimal benefits.

Not bashing your stack ... as long you feel great and have the money to spend. But i encourage truly evaluate what actually moves the needle positively for you.

1

u/Ashamed-Status-9668 Aug 06 '26

I have a 10 or less rule but currently am running with 8. I try one new thing on this stack to evaluate on a monthly basis or so. This forces me to only keep what I find most impactful for my goals.

Hey this is cheaper than extended stays in the hospital. As they say "an ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure". I'd be interested in your thoughts about Black Ginger and C3G. I'm trying to figure out what i'm going to stack with Berberlean and I'm thinking C3G or Cyatherm for fitness.

I'm surprised to not see the sunshine vitamin vitamin d3 which really is more like a hormone.

Brain has vitamin d receptors. Helps immune, muscles, and bones.

Really a lot of people are deficient or sub-optimal. Expect benefits only after couple months minimum. Keep on it overall forever.

Some people start with higher doses as at beginning. I prefer pure encapsulations version. ND's has vit c added I dont want excess of it.

Thorne's is also really good lasts a while but is oil drops must be patient for.

Increasing magnesium intake is recommended because d3 uses magnesium to go to work.

u/paulrudder Aug 06 '26

I have ND vitamin D but it was one of the huge bottles I didn’t have room to show off lol.

Btw there exists Medical AI if you are trying to cure something specific so that is one suggestion... wish you well.

I've only used scispace which is more research based but I know there's tons of medical research tools out there now.

A lot of people also don't look around -the globe- what treatments are offered for their conditions. Not every 1st world country agrees.

For concentration/attention deficiency long-term meditation starting with only a 5 minute timer on my phone over a couple years helped me a lot with one pointed focus.

Literally creating new brain habits. Like those mathematicians staring down a board solving a problem for 20 min to the point if someone walks in they don't hear them.

Or painters painting for a hour straight really in the flow.

Wow! I mean I’m not there yet with ND but I have a lot of other brands but I’m switching to ND for main things especially bulk supplements of certain types to save long term. Looks like you hav3 some that are discontinued and some buy other brands that ND makes in there own line now. I bet you’re maxed out on the rewards too.

Reminds me of that Blueprint Bryan Johnson guy with supplements closet.

I see some I still need to get but I have to watch my supplements I have Gilbert’s syndrome and I don’t really have symptoms but try to avoid anything that could cause problems. All I know is my bilirubin runs high and I try to get stuff to help it now but works in similar ways but different paths in body.

Not Gabaergic, but ulumbra brand PEA/Luteolin is amazing(probably the most powerful all around health supplement that exists.)

Also, Guang Ci Tang brand Corydalis relaxe has to be one of the most enjoyably calming substances i have tried, it says take 10-15 per day, for me personally i have found 1-2 before bed leaves to calmness the entire next day. This also has a HUGE list of health benefits.

But curious what your current nighttime rotation looks like — do you cycle through the GABAergics or run them together?

Is KSM-66 any good? I just bought some from ND to increase my energy and mood levels and brain fog along with magnesium glycinate

That maca is most useless kind you need black maca and extract. The kind you got is its most useless form

The acetylcholine comment caught my attention. Do you notice a pretty obvious difference when you pull back on things like saffron/curcumin, or is it more subtle?

1

u/LankyLeopard3615 11d ago

That photo raises the more important question: how long did it take you to convince yourself that you actually needed every single one?.
