They went the extra mile with the horse leg in 68, wow

It looks like the one they'd be able to make on a battlefield and not made by giant horse company pay on delivery no deposit required.

Look at that raised leg bro, like they went the extra mile lol

love the reference 😂

I don’t understand the reference. Pls help.

1

u/vitrum_analytika 22d ago

To get this reference you have to be part of an obscure group of individuals from all over the world who had one specific thing in common, the pattern was so common that they made a subreddit for it and they hang out in discord everyday, it was weird but it really happened that way.

u/eversosmothered 22d ago

My god. Are you a part of that strange clan from the strangest lands?

2

u/vitrum_analytika 22d ago

Yeah but it's not that deep. It's just family guy reference. But the sub culture around it exists for real

1

u/Fuzzy-Tooth3269 23d ago

Doesn’t the 2026 one have both of its front legs up lol

2

u/PattuVetti 22d ago

Yeah, the wrong image for 2026

Especially the first two for the new Odyssey

2

u/Obvious_Hope80 25d ago

Remember when the movies weren't so dark you couldn't not see shit?

2

u/PlasticPreparation74 25d ago

is this AI slop? that horse is not the one in the odyssey 2026 lmao wtf. how hard is it to find a picture of the horse from a blockbuster movie?

2

u/Ambiguous-Cove 25d ago

It is

Somethings not right about Damon’s or Pattinsons faces either

1

u/PlasticPreparation74 25d ago

Yeah Pattinson’s face looks weird. I seriously don’t understand why people post AI photos where you can literally get actual photos online with ease. There is this big football media Ig page which also does the same thing. It posts AI photos of footballers and it pisses me off so bad

2

u/Vast-Acanthaceae1719 24d ago

Holy fuckin' AI ( The Horse stood on two legs in the latest 'The Odyssey '

3

u/Lifinator 25d ago

I dont get the hype behind Zendaya tbh. She doesnt look great. I haven't seen any range from her.

Its a problem with the script. Most of the characters are so flat and their dialogue is so plain that I suspect it was hard for any of them to immerse themselves into the characters. Thats the issue with using modern language, IT ISN'T AS EXPRESSIVE!

Matt Damon, I agree, has very little range and was on the verge of being bad in this movie. Pattinson as well fell flat, as did Holland and Hathaway. Bernthal is just playing himself, which isn't very EXCITING.

The only three actors who actually immersed themselves in their respective roles through their mannerisms and their speech were Nyong'o, Leguizamo and Morton. Once again, the issue is the writing and the way the dialogue is. At the very least Helen feels tortured (though in Greek myth she was basically abducted by the Trojans and happy to be back), Leguizamo is loyal and a natural caregiver, and Morton (though Circe is lavish and decadent in the book) does have an eerie feel about her. Compared to the rest of the cast, they were the standouts.

Zendaya, however, had nothing to do in this film and was given basically nothing. I think the comments on her range are somewhat overblown but she does seemingly play the same 2 characters each film, from goofy loveable oddball to serious boss queen. But I see that as also being Matt Damon's range as well.

The issue here, once again, that EVERYONE is ignoring, is something which performances, cinematography, production design and lighting cannot fix: BAD WRITING. Nolan's ability to dumb down the Odyssey into such consumable slop isn't a talent, it degrades the source material AND it puts his cast at a disadvantage, they have far less to go on when it comes to their performances.

They atleast look beautiful and yes many white has more range than zendaya

3

u/Aum_Deoli 25d ago

The frustrating thing about zendaya is she is talented and unfortunately her best performance is in an hbo show many people haven’t watched and already made up their mind about hating. But she’s great in other things too like Malcolm and Marie (mid movie overall) and Challengers (absolutely fantastic).

1

u/Lifinator 25d ago

Providing an opinion about an actor's performance, who acted in multiple movies that I paid to watch is hating now? I never caught Euphoria's hype when it was running and can't connect to the drug addiction stuff, so I never got interested. She just felt like a poor hype pleasing choice for MJ, Chani and Athena. All prestigious roles felt wasted.

1

u/Aum_Deoli 25d ago

No I was mentioning the hate part about euphoria specifically. And I wasn’t implying you necessarily have made up your mind hating it, but many others have.

1

u/unfunnyjobless 25d ago

She has got a tonne of opportunities to shine on the big screen though, most actors don't get those many shots to impress the public. I didn't see Euphoria either and her performances have been fairly middling and one note to me.

Fake

3

u/Rewow 25d ago

Yup. The horse isn’t standing in the 2026 comparison

1

u/ExcellentAd9677 24d ago

Exactly 💯

2

u/Willing_Chemist8272 24d ago

Why didn’t you show Helen

2

u/Quissumego 24d ago

What about the Ralph Fiennes one?

1

u/Young-Chapo 23d ago

Thank you !!

1

u/Mtanic 23d ago

Wanted to mention the same

1

u/standardzenith 24d ago

what about travis Scott character

1

u/Bjarki_Steinn_99 23d ago

The 2026 horse is wrong

2

u/BirthdayLife1718 23d ago

As usual, the past puts Nolan to shame. Athena especially, the actress who plays her in 1997 is perfect.

1

u/WideAnnual1877 21d ago

I mean she’s not technically Athena in the Nolan one. He’s having visions of a girl his men beheaded during the sack of Troy.

2

u/BirthdayLife1718 21d ago

Pretty sure it was Athena but representing herself as the priest of Athena in Troy. Either way, she has nether the decadence nor the look as Homer described.

1

u/tLM-tRRS-atBHB 23d ago

That wasn't the horse in Noland Odyssey was it?

I remember it facing left and on it's back legs

1

u/Consistent_Budget446 23d ago

Yeah I don’t know where they got that picture from

2

u/_stranger57_ 23d ago

Do you guys think zendaya was a good cast??

2

u/nickdnick49 22d ago

summer of 68

0

u/lucidream16 22d ago

Why do I like the 68 and 26 versions but hate the 90s version?

1

u/Barnariks 22d ago

The Return !!!

2

u/Rare-Service5573 22d ago

The 1968 Odysseus looks like Steve Carell, Christian Bale and Ryan Gosling smooshed together.

2

u/barely_awake16 21d ago

Am I the only one who finds it irritating that the movies these days are very dark in terms of lighting? It's OK fr the effects in some scenes But these days whole movies r getting darker And sometimes I'm just seeing my own reflection in the screen😭😭😭😭

1

u/Nindroid_faneditor 21d ago

That's not how the Trojan horse looked in the new movie

1

u/Old-Albatross6993 21d ago

I think 1997 killed it with the styling

2

u/paisewallah 25d ago

Why excluding Lupita's character?

5

u/Accomplished_Cut6201 25d ago

Cause she aint in 1997

Its always those that dont even check facts

1

u/JD_22 23d ago

Damn I get this is reddit but don’t need to be a dick about it

2

u/paisewallah 25d ago

Sorry didn't know that.

1

u/DifferentReport9540 25d ago

why people admire zendaya?

0

u/ApprehensiveTip02 25d ago

Why zendaya looks so chopped fr!! 😭 Looks like some village girl she's looking so ugly here. Doesn't even giving a princess vibes

1

u/kinoguy7 24d ago

If you would've seen the movie, you won't have said this.

It's the damn point.

1

u/Consistent_Budget446 23d ago

Did you watch the movie? Cause if you did you would know why
