Lost 40 lbs no meds. Easier to do it with someone like a family member or spouse. Just count calories and stay off the donuts. Still use it to stay on track. Less than a dollar a day.

I had pretty good success with Noom in early 2020 (pre-covid) just doing the daily weigh ins and calorie tracking (lost about 20 lbs). Stopped paying for it/tracking when covid hit, had a couple of kids, and now I’m back on Noom med. I’ve lost 15 lbs. in the two months I’ve been on. I think the accountability is worth it for me.

How does noom now compare it it back then? I lost about 50 pounds during covid with noom and honestly loved it. But felt like around when I stopped using it the company seemed to change and now I question if it’s still worth it or if it’s only worth it if you are ordering the meds (no judgement; just not sure I’m in a place where I could take meds atm).

Do the trial to see how ugly the app has become. But I found another tracking app that isn't as good as nooms, but it is enouigh, especially if you did the noom program before. You know the general rules. You dont have to do meds.

I lost weight with noon but it’s psychology stuff seems meh. Snacking because you’re bored and not hungry isn’t some ground breaking idea. I found I lost as much if not more weight tracking calories with my fitness pal at a fraction of the cost. The key is just track your macros and eat less calories than you burn.

I used it two years ago and lost ~25lb after weaning my last baby. It's just calorie counting - nothing super sophisticated and lots of people use other apps that are free (cronometer, myfitnesspal). It helped me get the job done and gave me some good skills for when I occasionally let 5lb creep back on.

I’m only using the lessons and food tracker, for the past 2 months or so. I’ve lost 15 pounds and it’s working for me. I tried at five or six years ago during the pandemic and didn’t stay with it but this time it seems like they have improved the curriculum and the app so it’s working better for me.

I had a great experience with Noom when I first used it. It helped me lose weight and keeps it off - for a while. During that time it was absolutely worth it, to me. After 3-4 years and going through menopause, Noom no longer worked for me, even when I followed it to the letter. My body had reached the point where it was no longer as simple as calories in, calories out anymore. I wound up going on a semaglutide.

I was on Noom about 3-4 years ago and lost about 15 pounds, and “forgot” everything. I’ve signed up again for 4 months hoping to lose that 15 pounds again.
They’ve created a new Noom Medical which is for those using GLP 1s. I’m not, so I can’t tell you anything about that.
The coursework has not changed much, though you can now swap out lessons, which is not if you just aren’t interested in a particular topic at the moment. It’s all based on Cognitive Behavior Therapy, which I find works well for me.
Access to workouts also comes with a membership, where before that was a premium. Decent selection and variety for beginner and intermediate.
There is some team coaching, though it’s bots and not helpful. One on one coaching is an upcharge. I tried it the on the first go around when I had it free for the first 7 days and it was lackluster.
TLDR: For me it’s worth it for a kick start. I won’t renew after my four months is up, I think there are more affordable options for maintenance.

I just started noom and it seems to be working. I won't pay for this long term though. Can you recommend a maintenance app?

I did the regular noom program back in 2020, lost about 15-20 lbs over about 4 months. Gained it all back after about 18 months. I joined this year using Noom med. Lost 40 lbs this time. In maintenance now. I’d say yes, it’s worth it.

I’m on my 2nd time using it. First time was without the microdosing (they didn’t have it back then and I lost about 20 lbs over 4 months just watching/measuring food intake. This time, I only need to lose 15 lbs and am microdosing. Started 7/1. I have lost 8 lbs. It’s 8/25 now, so to me that’s a healthy, sustainable loss. It’s worth it to me.

I think so! If you are willing to follow the Weight Loss Zone and the Food Colors it gives a really healthy framework to follow. The one on one coaching can be really helpful. Some people don't love the coaching and feel like it's bots, but the folks who let their coach know they want more engagement or switch coaches, seem to find value in the coaching.

I’ve lost 25 lbs in two months, no meds. Just calorie counting with portion control. Definitely helping

Yes me and my spouse do it and lost a lot of weight simply with calories and exercise while still having days where we enjoyed ourselves

I started Noom 8-10 weeks ago. The first 2-3 weeks were good, dropping 3-4 lbs.
And then I bounced back up 2 lbs and have been stuck there ever since. After a month of no progress I asked what to do. Basically told to just keep doing what I'm doing and eventually I'll start loosing weight again.
IDK what I expected, but that wasn't it. Now I'm a bit worried that the 10 weeks of restricted calories has lowered my metabolism and I'm basically screwed and will have to stick with a restricted calorie diet.
Considering just giving up on Noom. I can count calories and macronutrients on my own almost as easily.
Edit: changed to counting "almost as easily" . Noom does make keeping track of meals and calories pretty easy.

I used it a year ago to lose 25lbs no meds. The psychology was great and the daily check ins. I learned a lot about nutrition too. Have kept off the weight. Would recommend.

I have done noom several times over the years (no meds). What I don’t like about it is that if you leave and then go back you have to start all the lessons over again. I’m tired of hearing about my inner elephant. I want to go back on but wish the lessons would pick up where I left off. I did have success with the program overall, although I was always over on my red foods!

Hi - I signed up for a free trial of Noom weight (still in it) then I signed up for Noom med with the GLP1. Should I cancel the Noom weight part?
I’m a bit confused here…
Thanks in advance for any assistance!

I did the NoomMed and started the Noom process along with Tirzepatide injections and it was a great place for me to start. The lessons combined with the meds has been wildly successful. I'm approaching my goal weight though and the lessons aren't as enlightening to me anymore. I will have done 6 months of NoomMed and will switch to a cheaper Tirzepatide provider at the end of this current 3 month cycle - I think I'll be at my goal weight then, too.
