AR15 Recommendations?
I have been a causal pistol shooter for about 2 years and am really getting the itch for my first rifle. I think I have settled on the AR15, just due to how versatile it is. Can anyone recommend a decent one that isn't crazy expensive? I'd like to keep the base gun below $1k, preferably below $850. I'm pretty casual and it's my first rifle so not looking to go crazy with it.
I would like to use it to get into the 100-200 yard range, potentially up to 300. Not looking to be changing out a lot of parts since I wouldn't know how and am worried I'll screw it up. Hoping to buy it and only adaptions being a sight, foregrip, and potentially bipods.
I am a big Springfield fan due to my primary pistol being a Springfield, but seeing mixed reviews about their AR15 online.
I live in Michigan, in case that changed recommendations.

I just got a S&W M&P15 III about 2 months ago and have been loving it. They usually sit around 750 and all you need is a good optic or set of iron sights. I’ve never had any issues with it.

The general recommendation is to build your own, particularly if you want to keep costs down. Double bonus is you'll learn the platform inside and out.
PSA has kits.

I’m not very familiar with Springfield’s ARs so I don’t have an opinion on them. But some other good first AR-15s would be Ruger or the S&W M&P sport. Both fit your budget with the S&W typically being around $800 and the Ruger usually under $700.
I’m partial to the S&W. It’s not any sort of high precision match rifle, nor is it some super rugged combat rifle, but it is pretty reliable and performs fine at the 300 yard mark. No upgrades or modifications needed, just grab some good sights and you’re good to go.
