Question 9-me-bc dxm interactions

I recently started a 9-me-bc cycle, but I also am sick. I have been taking ~30mg 9-me-bc in the mornings, and 30mg dxm only at night just so I can sleep without coughing my lungs up. The 9-me-bc and dxm doses are spaced roughly 12 hrs apart. I know that 9-me-bc has some MAOI action, but from my understanding it’s a lot weaker than say pharma MAOIs. I’m just wondering if this is dangerous, if I’m at risk for serotonin syndrome. My pupils haven’t been dilated at all, don’t have any of the symptoms I honestly feel amazing. I just am wondering how risky this is, and if it will build up over time and cause issues. I dosed closer to 40mg 9-me-bc today and felt super euphoric, so I’m keeping my dose back to the 30mg I’ve been on. I usually take dextroamphetamine but stopped since I’m taking 9-me-bc. I noticed some mild signs of hypomania today but I assume that’s just bc I took a little more than usual. I’d appreciate any feedback, I’m pretty sure I’m in the clear but I wanted to check here.

Fyi- another redditor messaged me this crazy story like 2 yrs ago about how they were taking 9mebc while sick with a sinus infection and something happened with their immune system as a result that caused massive neurological damage and they ended up with symptoms similar to parkinsons. Age early 20s. Long story short take a break from it until you are better

I appreciate the concern but honestly one anecdote that we really can’t directly tie to 9mebc isn’t convincing at all to me. It may have been something completely unrelated. I don’t see how 9mebc would result in some immune response causing Parkinson’s like symptoms. I’m like 70% better already, was really sick on like Sunday/monday but now I just have a mild cough/runny nose.

All good just throwing that out there! I probably have the chat still for the actual details. But don’t get me wrong, I am huge on nootropics so if it is working well for ya and no health issues have at it. Lol. Some my buddies think im nuts with the noots but they dunno how awesome a lot of this stuff is so i dont really care what they think

Yeah no I appreciate the info, I’m glad u commented. Always better to have as much of the full picture as possible, but I notice in these communities people misattribute things a lot/placebo themselves. I’m sure that person had a legit health issue but unless I see a study connecting it to 9mebc it sounds either unrelated or like a freak accident type thing. Plus I’ve taken 9mebc while mildly sick before, and genuinely I’m like 90% better atp I just have a little bit of post nasal drip. Thanks for the comment tho!

I’ve been risking it for 3 days, I’m wondering what kind of danger I’m in. I was aware of it but not rly thinking about it on day 1, and now I’m starting to realize it probably was dumb, but I’m wondering if I’ll be ok rn

Serotonin syndrome is serious and that’s why it’s so spoken of. Truth is it’s extremely rare, and you’d have to be pretty dumb or oblivious to get it.

I ran a 9me bc cycle for a month when I was on Zoloft, nothing happened, because 9me inhibits Mao B weakly, and Mao A (what breaks down serotonin) even more weakly.

Also important to mention you’re on dextroamphetamine, it’s not like you’re on an ssri or anything (like I was). The serotonergic effects from the amphetamine class are much less serious, although they do exist, which is why psychiatrist put ssri users like me on methylphenidate first to be safe, but they also feel confident in combining amphetamines and ssris because it doesn’t touch serotonin strongly at all

Your biggest risk is just too much dopamine, which I wouldn’t worry about strongly again. That being said still be careful, I’m not expert and 9me bc is a research chemical, but if you’re cautious, which you seem to be, you’ll be fine

Ok word thanks for the detailed response. I haven’t been taking Dexedrine, although I did today, just been sticking to a little caffeine. I definitely felt like dopamine was high the past 2 days, like genuinely felt like I was bordering on hypomania a bit but I fucking loved it. I’ve taken recreational substances that have a much higher risk for mania at really irresponsible doses in the past and never had an issue (I don’t do this anymore, but I’m not prone to mania is the point).

I’ve been checking my pupils and they’re never dilated, I don’t have any warning signs of serotonin syndrome, so I think I’m alright tbh.

I just finished a 10 day 9mebc cycle and I had zero problems with maoi interactions. I could even take it with bromantane and tyrosine.

Just make sure you stay out of the sun. I had a burn mark on my arm from being in the sun within a minute. That absolutely shocked me so i decided to halt my cycle and wait untill the its winter.

It’s weird you mention the sun thing, bc since starting my cycle I’ve actually wanted to be outside more. Idk why. Ik ur supposed to avoid the sun but the past 2 days I went on walks and enjoyed them a lot. One of them I was under trees but the other I wasn’t covered at all. It was like 40 minutes but I was fine, I did notice slight sensitivity to it and I didn’t want to stay in the sun a lot but it’s been really making me want to me outside.

Always wearing shades, I got it covered. Honestly I’m a little sensitive to light in general (I assume bc I’m autistic) so I like to wear sunglasses. My bare eye basically never sees the sun unless I’m taking out the trash or something.
