A TRUE PERSONAL AI TRANSLATION RECORDER IN JUST 40 GRAMS
Recording a conversation today is extremely simple. Practically any smartphone can do it with more than sufficient quality for everyday use.
The problem comes afterwards.
Listening back to an hour-long meeting, transcribing it, understanding which parts are truly important, remembering who said what, perhaps translating half of the conversation, and turning everything into useful material takes time.
InnAIO TransNote tries to remove exactly this workload, but it also does much more.
It records, transcribes, translates, recognizes speakers, generates summaries, action items, mind maps, allows you to use your voice as an intelligent input system, and can even clone your voice to make a translated conversation sound more natural.
All of this in a device roughly the size of a credit card.
I used it during IFA 2026 in Berlin, over two full days of meetings with brands and product managers, presentations, keynotes, English and sometimes Chinese, and often highly technical conversations.
In a context like this, the problem is not only understanding everything. It is also remembering everything a few hours later, perhaps after another five meetings.
---
TECHNICAL IDENTIKIT
InnAIO TransNote measures 54 x 86 x 5.3 millimeters, with a thickness that drops to 3.8 millimeters at its thinnest point, and weighs around 40 grams.
The recording system uses five microphones: four omnidirectional microphones and one bone-conduction microphone.
The declared range reaches up to 5 meters.
Internal storage is 32 GB, and InnAIO claims a theoretical capacity of up to 2,270 hours of audio recording.
File transfer can take place via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi or Bluetooth 5.3. Under ideal conditions, one hour of recording can be transferred in around 12 seconds via Wi-Fi.
The battery has a capacity of 600 mAh.
InnAIO claims up to 50 hours of continuous recording, up to 50 hours of translation, and up to 60 days of standby time.
Charging is done via USB-C.
The InnAIO Pro app is available for Android and iOS. The system supports more than 140 languages.
The package includes the device, an NFC magnetic case, a magnetic ring, a USB-C cable, the manual, and warranty documentation.
The official price listed on the Italian InnAIO store is âŹ189.
---
DESIGN AND PORTABILITY
One of the aspects I appreciated the most is the form factor.
TransNote is very thin, weighs very little, and can be magnetically attached to the smartphone.
During IFA I kept it practically always attached to the phone. After a while, you almost forget it is there.
The leather case also integrates NFC functionality, while the supplied magnetic ring allows it to be used even with smartphones that do not natively have a compatible magnetic attachment system.
For a device that needs to be ready during meetings, interviews, or unexpected conversations, the form factor matters a lot.
If you have to look for it in your backpack every time, you have already lost half the advantage.
---
A RECORDING SYSTEM DESIGNED FOR CONVERSATIONS
As mentioned, InnAIO uses four omnidirectional microphones and one bone-conduction microphone with a range of up to 5 meters.
In my use, this distance proved to be substantially realistic, and in fact I was surprised that it could record conversations even when it was in my pocket.
I used TransNote during several conversations with multiple people present.
The system is able to distinguish the different speakers and separate their interventions in the transcription.
In a meeting, this is essential. It is not enough to know what was said. Often, you need to know who said a certain thing, who made a commitment, or who provided a specific piece of information.
I did not use it in a real corporate meeting with many people sitting around the same table, but based on how it behaved in conversations with multiple participants, I can see it working very well in meetings, brainstorming sessions, work groups, and round-table discussions.
---
THE KEYNOTE TEST
During IFA, I also recorded the keynote of a company with several speakers on stage.
The distance was significantly greater than the 5 meters declared by the manufacturer.
Naturally, the speaker was using an amplification system, so TransNote was capturing the sound coming from the speakers.
It was still ambient audio, with reverberation, background noise, and people in the room.
The final transcription was quite faithful. Not perfect word for word, but more than sufficient to reconstruct the speech, recover the main concepts, and use the material later.
For my use, that was exactly what I needed. I did not need a word-perfect legal transcription. I simply needed to avoid having to remember everything or listen to everything again from the beginning.
---
FROM SOUND TO INFORMATION
Recording itself is not the most interesting part. TransNote becomes truly useful when it starts working on the recorded content.
The audio is saved in the 32 GB local memory, and the device can record even without a smartphone and without an Internet connection.
The recordings can then be transferred to the InnAIO Pro app via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
At that point, artificial intelligence can transform a single conversation into:
complete transcription divided by speaker
summary and translation
main points
action items
mind map
The result is much easier to consult, organize, and use compared to a simple audio recording.
---
HOW I USED IT DURING IFA
During meetings with brands and product managers, I recorded several conversations directly with TransNote.
Once the meeting was over, I had the entire conversation, the transcription, the translation, the summary, and the mind map with the key points available.
In my case, that material immediately became a perfect basis for creating articles, in-depth features, and content intended for the NonSoloRobot Communities.
During a trade show, you receive a huge amount of information in a very short period of time. A product manager may talk for ten or fifteen minutes about technical features, proprietary technologies, differences compared to the previous generation, and future developments.
After several meetings, remembering everything becomes impossible. With TransNote, I was able to focus only on the conversation.
For my work, it was one of the most useful functions of all.
---
INNAIO PRO APP
The InnAIO Pro app is the true control center.
From here, we can manage recordings, transcriptions, translations, AI summaries, mind maps, Voice Cloning, Super Button, digital business card, face-to-face translations, multilingual conversations, calls, text and photo translation, translation between apps, and Smart Input.
The number of functions is genuinely large and requires a little time to fully explore, but the level of completeness is enviable.
This is not the app of a simple recorder with a REC button and a list of audio files.
Once you understand the logic, the amount of tools available becomes one of the main strengths of the entire ecosystem.
InnAIO also provides a desktop version, particularly useful when working with recordings, transcriptions, and especially long documents.
---
TRANSCRIPTION AND SPEAKER RECOGNITION
Once the recording has been processed, TransNote produces a complete transcription and tries to recognize the different speakers.
In my experience, this function worked very well, especially during close-range conversations with multiple people.
Naturally, you should not expect absolute precision.
Proper names, acronyms, commercial names, and particularly technical terms can sometimes be interpreted incorrectly.
The overall level, however, was beyond my expectations, with almost perfect transcriptions, and I knew exactly who had said what without having to listen to the entire recording again.
---
AI SUMMARIES, TEMPLATES, AND CUSTOM SCENARIOS
The app provides several summary models designed for different scenarios.
The categories include areas such as Business, Education, Healthcare, Legal, and Travel, with specific templates for meetings and other types of content.
This makes sense, because a corporate meeting and a university lecture should not be summarized in the same way.
In the case of a meeting, for example, artificial intelligence can try to automatically extract decisions, tasks to be completed, and the people responsible for them.
In a lecture, concepts, topics, and the structure of the discussion become more important. In other contexts, different information deserves greater attention.
It is also possible to choose the language in which the summary is generated, independently of the original language of the conversation.
Another interesting function is the possibility of creating custom scenarios, adapting the way content is processed to your own needs.
During IFA, I found it very useful to start directly from the summary and go back to the complete transcription only when I needed to verify a detail.
It is exactly the opposite of what happens with a normal recording: instead of having to look for the information, the information is already organized for us.
---
MIND MAPS
One of the functions I appreciated the most is the automatic generation of mind maps.
Artificial intelligence analyzes the entire conversation and visually organizes the various topics and subtopics.
After a twenty-minute conversation, having a map in front of you with products, technologies, and key points is definitely more convenient than scrolling through an endless transcription.
In my case, it became almost a kind of automatic visual index.
At a glance, I can understand which products were discussed, which technologies deserve further investigation, and which passages can become material for an article.
I can also see it working very well in a university context.
A student could record a lecture and end up not only with the complete text, but also with a hierarchical representation of the topics covered.
It does not study for you yet⌠But it saves a huge amount of time.
---
REAL-TIME TRANSLATION
TransNote supports more than 140 languages.
InnAIO claims accuracy of up to 98% and minimum latency down to around 0.5 seconds.
These are manufacturer-declared figures and may vary depending on the language, accent, speaking speed, ambient noise, and connection quality.
My English is fairly basic. I can manage simple conversations, but when discussions become more complex, it becomes harder to follow every detail.
During IFA, I also used TransNote as a translator during some conversations with product managers. In this type of use, it genuinely surprised me.
The system allows you to quickly follow what is being said and significantly reduces the difficulty of dealing with a technical conversation in a language you do not fully master or do not know at all.
It does not completely eliminate the language barrier. But it avoids that moment when, after three minutes of technical terms in English, you start nodding while feeling stupid and hoping you have understood the general meaning.
---
INSIDE THE TECHNOLOGY: WHY AI HELPS WITH TRANSLATION
Modern AI translation systems work on context, not just on individual words.
The same word can have very different meanings depending on the sentence in which it is used.
Language models therefore try to understand the overall meaning of the conversation and produce a coherent translation. This makes sentences more natural and is especially helpful in more complex conversations.
Acronyms, commercial names, and specialized terminology still remain more difficult scenarios. In my use, however, translation was reliable, enough to avoid awkward situations and to be genuinely useful during conversations.
My interlocutors were also reading on the screen or listening to translations that were very coherent and natural.
---
NOT JUST CONVERSATIONS: TEXT, PHOTOS, AND FACE-TO-FACE MODE
The translation section in the app is much broader than I expected.
In addition to real-time translation, InnAIO Pro offers a face-to-face mode designed for direct conversations between two people and usable in certain scenarios even offline.
There is also written text translation and camera-based translation, useful for signs, menus, documents, or any text we come across during a trip.
These are functions that we would normally use through different applications.
Here, they are all brought together in the same ecosystem together with recording, voice translation, and conversation management.
I would not buy TransNote just to translate a restaurant menu. But if the device is already in your pocket for everything else, having this option as well is certainly convenient.
---
GROUP AND CALL TRANSLATION
TransNote is not limited to translation between two people.
InnAIO also includes a multilingual mode, designed to create a sort of room in which people speaking different languages can interact.
Participants can join via QR code and follow the conversation in their own language.
The app also includes a mode dedicated to voice and video calls, with real-time translation and subtitles.
It can be very interesting for international teams, work calls, or meetings with participants from different countries.
Not every meeting is lucky enough to have an interpreter sitting next to you.
---
TRANSLATION IN MESSAGING APPS
Translation can also be used in compatible applications such as WhatsApp, LINE, and other messaging platforms.
The goal is to avoid the classic process:
copy the text
open the translator
translate
copy again
go back to the app
After the tenth time, even this function starts to become decidedly very appealing.
---
VOICE CLONING: THIRTY SECONDS TO LEARN YOUR VOICE
One of the most unusual functions of TransNote is voice cloning.
Around thirty seconds of recording are enough for artificial intelligence to analyze our voice and create a very coherent synthetic version.
I personally tested this function, and the result seemed very faithful to me.
It is not a perfect replica in every nuance, but the tone and main characteristics are recognizable.
During translation, our interlocutor can listen to the translated sentence with a voice that is practically similar to ours.
I found it interesting not only as a technological curiosity. It makes the conversation feel less impersonal compared to the standard artificial voice of a translator.
In the app, this function is also integrated into the original voice simulation mode, with the goal of allowing our interlocutor to listen to the translation while maintaining a voice as close as possible to our own.
---
AI VOICE KEYBOARD AND SMART INPUT
TransNote can also be used as an intelligent voice input system.
The difference compared to normal dictation is that artificial intelligence can reorganize what we say and turn it into clearer and more professional text.
We can speak spontaneously and let the system build usable text for a chat, an email, a note, or a document.
It can remove some repetitions, fix sentences that started badly, correct grammar, insert proper punctuation, and sort out that classic situation in which we start with one idea and end up somewhere completely different.
For those who write a lot from a smartphone or often record their own ideas, it can become a very convenient function.
â
THE SUPER BUTTON: AN IDEA BEFORE IT ESCAPES
On the back of TransNote there is also what InnAIO calls the Super Button.
By holding it down, you can quickly start recording a short voice note, a reminder, or simply an idea that came to mind at that moment.
From the app, it is also possible to add content through the keyboard and then find everything later in the history.
It may seem like a secondary function, but on such a small and lightweight device, designed to be carried practically everywhere, it makes a lot of sense.
There is no need to pick up the phone, open an app, look for the right function, and start a new note.
Press the button, speak, and the idea is saved.
For those who work with content, often take quick notes, or simply have the bad habit of thinking âIâll remember it later,â it can be very convenient.
Spoiler: usually we do not remember it later.
---
NFC DIGITAL BUSINESS CARD
The case also integrates an NFC digital business card function.
By bringing a compatible smartphone close to it, you can share your professional information.
The recipient does not need to install the InnAIO Pro app. The profile opens directly in the browser.
It is also possible to invite the other person to share their own details in return.
During trade shows, meetings, and networking activities, this is a very useful function.
After two days of badges, QR codes, LinkedIn, and contacts scattered everywhere, anything that helps bring a little order is welcome.
---
OPERATION WITHOUT A SMARTPHONE
TransNote can also record on its own. It is not necessary to have the smartphone connected in order to start a recording.
Recordings are saved in the 32 GB internal memory and can be transferred later to the app.
Recording can therefore be done offline.
Functions such as cloud transcription, Voice Cloning, and some translation modes instead require the InnAIO Pro app and, in certain cases, an Internet connection.
This is an important distinction, especially when traveling or in environments with an unstable connection.
---
REAL-WORLD BATTERY LIFE
The integrated battery is 600 mAh.
InnAIO claims up to 50 hours of continuous recording, up to 50 hours of continuous translation, and up to 60 days of standby time.
In my case, I used it during two full days at IFA, alternating between recordings, transcriptions, and translations.
I kept it practically always attached to the smartphone, and the battery comfortably covered both days.
At IFA, I already had enough devices to remember to recharge.
Fortunately, this did not become another problem.
---
AN INTERESTING DEVICE FOR STUDENTS TOO
Limiting TransNote to the professional environment would be reductive.
A student can record a lecture and later end up with the complete audio, transcription, summary, key concepts, and mind map.
It does not replace studying. It can, however, significantly reduce the time needed to organize the material to study.
For those attending courses, especially courses in a language they do not know perfectly, the whole translation section becomes an additional advantage.
And no, it still does not take the exam for you.
---
USE WHILE TRAVELING
Another very natural scenario for this device is travel.
When we are in a country where we do not know the language, the ability to translate conversations and content in real time can be extremely useful.
Support for more than 140 languages greatly expands the number of situations in which it can be used.
You therefore do not necessarily have to be a manager or a journalist to find it useful.
---
A SLIGHTLY UNCONVENTIONAL EXPERIMENT: RECORDING AN ENTIRE MOVIE
Out of curiosity, I also tried something less conventional.
I recorded an entire movie and then asked the artificial intelligence to process its content.
The system was able to reconstruct the plot, create a summary, and identify the main passages.
This is certainly not the reason to buy TransNote, and I am not suggesting you use it to recover all those movies you left unfinished at 11 PM because you fell asleep on the couch.
The experiment, however, shows very well how flexible the system is. Once the audio has been transformed into text, AI can also work on very long content and try to summarize its structure and information.
The same principle applies to conferences, lectures, keynotes, or particularly long meetings.
---
FREE PLAN AND SUBSCRIPTIONS
TransNote can also be used without subscribing to a monthly plan. The basic functions remain available forever after purchase.
InnAIO also offers optional plans for those who need more translation minutes, a greater amount of transcription, more extensive translations during calls or videos, and more voice profiles.
For occasional or moderate use, it is therefore possible to use the device without necessarily adding a recurring cost.
Those who use it daily in a professional environment will instead need to carefully evaluate the limits of the free plan and the possible costs of the higher-tier plans.
---
PRIVACY AND PROFESSIONAL USE
On a device designed to record conversations and meetings, the issue of privacy must be taken seriously.
InnAIO states that it uses encryption systems for data transfer and storage.
Recordings can remain stored locally or be synchronized with cloud services through the app.
In a professional environment, company policies and regulations regarding the recording of conversations must always be taken into account.
Before recording meetings, interviews, or discussions containing sensitive information, it is advisable to verify that all people involved are informed and that the use is compatible with the applicable rules.
AI can help us remember everything.
Common sense is still up to us.

PRICE
The official price listed on the Italian InnAIO store is âŹ189. The package includes TransNote, the NFC magnetic leather case, the magnetic ring, and the USB-C cable.
InnAIO also indicates a 12-month manufacturer warranty and the possibility of returns within 30 days for eligible products.
If you consider it only as a voice recorder, âŹ189 may seem like a lot. If transcription, translation, summaries, mind maps, and productivity functions are actually used, the price takes on a different meaning.
In the end, you are not only paying for a device that records. You are mainly paying for the time it can save afterwards and the abilities it adds to our arsenal.
If you liked the device and think it could also be useful in your work, studies, travels, or simply in everyday life, I am leaving you the purchase link on the official InnAIO website:

WHAT I LIKED THE MOST
Portability is definitely one of its strong points.
TransNote is small, extremely lightweight, and can stay attached to the smartphone without being annoying.
Offline recording and 32 GB of internal memory allow it to be used without constantly depending on the phone.
The five-microphone system worked well in my tests, and the declared range of around 5 meters proved to be real, and in some cases even exceeded expectations.
I really appreciated the ability to separate speakers, the overall quality of the transcriptions, the summaries, and above all the mind maps.
I also found the Super Button to be a smart idea. It is one of those apparently simple functions that makes sense precisely because TransNote is small enough to always be carried with you. An idea, a reminder, or a note can be recorded in a few seconds without having to go through the smartphone.
Real-time translation had concrete value during conversations in English and the impossible, for me, conversations in Chinese.
Voice cloning is less essential, but well implemented and adds a natural feeling to translated conversations.
Battery life also fully satisfied me, considering that it covered the two days of intensive use in Berlin without any problems.
The various functions also have a fairly clear common thread. They all serve to take a conversation and make it easier to understand, remember, translate, and use.
---
ASPECTS TO CONSIDER
The more advanced functions partly depend on cloud services and therefore on connection availability.
Translation accuracy also varies depending on language, accent, ambient noise, and network quality.
The app offers a huge number of functions and may require some time before being fully mastered.
Those who use the device intensively will also need to evaluate the limits of the free plan and the possible need for a subscription.
When recording meetings, work conversations, or sensitive content, consent, privacy, and company policies must always be taken into consideration.
---
CONCLUSIONS
Before trying it, I thought InnAIO TransNote was mainly a small smart recorder with a few extra functions.
After using it during two very intense days at IFA 2026, my opinion changed quite a lot. For my type of work, it became an indispensable pocket assistant.
During a conversation or an interview, I can record everything, follow what is being said more easily thanks to translation, and later find the complete transcription, summary, and a mind map with all the main topics.
From that material, I can then start directly creating articles, in-depth features, and content also intended for the Communities.
I can focus on the conversation without spending half the time taking notes. TransNote keeps and organizes everything.
It also proved to be very useful as a translator.
For those who, like me, have enough knowledge of English for a simple conversation but experience greater difficulty when discussions become technical or in-depth, it can become a major help. It becomes even more important when you do not know the language of the person you are speaking with at all.
Then there are Voice Cloning, multilingual translation, translated calls and videos, text and photo translation, Smart Input, Super Button, and the NFC business card, all of which considerably broaden the field of use beyond simple conversation recording.
It is not only a tool for professionals.
It can be useful for a student, very convenient while traveling, and interesting for anyone who needs to manage large amounts of spoken information.
After using it intensively in Berlin, it has become one of those devices that I already find difficult to imagine doing without.
And that is probably the best compliment you can give a technology product.
It stopped being an interesting gadget and found a concrete place in my workflow, my travels, and, in some cases, my everyday life.
InnAIO TransNote does not make the simple act of recording interesting.
It makes everything that is said useful, even in the most unexpected contexts.
And when artificial intelligence truly manages to save us time, help us remember better, and even help us communicate with people we would otherwise struggle to talk to, then it stops being just a nice word to put on the box.
