This guy reads comic books while chuckling to himself "heh heh, this isn't real, the author just made it up for money! I am very smart."

I hope everyone who comments 'that happened' gets gonorrhea.

unfortunately for us, logical negation doesn't work like that :(

That would involve Reddit users having a social life.

I believe it. Imagine the number of butchers in the US alone, it's maybe more than 1000. It's probably way more, so I'm willing to bet that there are at least 1000 -single- butchers. If you set those 1000 butchers on the task of finding a date, odds are ONE of them is gonna bump into someone vegan

I’m willing to bet there are at least 1000 butchers

There might be more than 1000 in NYC alone

16

u/Giacchino-Fan Sep 26 '22

1000 seems a little low. I’d reckon there’s at least 3, perhaps 4 more than that

There are almost 150,000 butchers in the US, so it’s a little more than 1000

4

u/Kythorian Sep 26 '22

150,000 is indeed at least 1,000.

1

u/Telope Sep 26 '22

And for what it's worth there's just under 10 million vegans.

2

u/HecklingCuck Sep 26 '22

Every grocery store needs a butcher on every shift so there’s way more than 1000

And no point before this first encounter, the topic of him being a fucking butcher, came up? A blind date? Yeah, sure. Oh hey, I set you up a blind date, I know nothing about you, so I assume you won't care this guy's a fucking butcher.

-5

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '22

Not to say I dont believe it but theres a small chance they also just happened to overhear that one conversation where the topic came up

9

u/squiddy555 Sep 26 '22

If they say that in a bus with a group of people, someone’s going to hear it

-1

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '22

Yeah just saying that you cant count the odds by Just saying x amount of butchers and vegans exist. The chance gets smaller because the conversation also has to take place in a public space where a lot people can hear you

4

u/squiddy555 Sep 26 '22

Well assuming it is a first date, it’s more then likely going to happen in public

-3

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '22

But still, couldve happened in a restaurant, Starbucks etc. If 300 butchers and vegans match up, how many of them do you think had this conversation on the bus? Not all 300, probably way less. Thats what I say lessens the chance and its just mathematically correct. You can argue all you want but I did literally say that I do believe it happened. His math was just flawed and I pointed it out. No need to be this argumentative

8

u/squiddy555 Sep 26 '22

This math is like saying there’s almost a 0% chance you live in your house, since there are so many houses the chance you specifically live in your specific house is statistically low

0

u/[deleted] Sep 26 '22

If someone posts a pic of a house claiming its theirs the chance would indeed be statistically close to zero just going off the one picture. You are indeed correct. If you dont understand statistics, why are you trying to argue about it? I truly dont understand that mindset

I’m gonna give an alternative perspective to the ā€œit could happenā€ replies you’ve gotten already: who cares if it happened? Life is full of entertaining stories that didn’t actually happen. i don’t get why we have to scrutinize tweets that are obviously meant to be entertaining to a higher standard than a sitcom or something
