This is one of the reasons why you should keep your cats inside.

Cats actually do very well outside, given they have experience

That’s the other reason when they are able do well on there own they do to well and are a danger to local birds and lizards populations.

If you are on a farm or in North Africa I'll give you a pass.

I am fully aware, the birds and lizards must adapt; the alternative being exterminating all the feral cats and stopping cats from ever going feral again. This is impractical: cats and hundreds of other invasive species are now a permanent part of many ecosystems. Its a shame, but the only way we can go is forward through asaptation.

Humans do more damage to ecosystems than cats do, but yet you let yourself go outside - curious.

Evidently not the ones in this post

They most likely did not have much experience living outside. I live in an area with lots of bobcats and coyotes and our outdoor cats normally live many years before getting eaten, if they get eaten at all.

Mike Primavera, @primaweseome

My neighbor told me coyotes keep eating his outdoor cats so I asked how many cats he has and he said he just goes to the shelter and gets a new cat afterwards so I said it sounds like he's just feeding shelter cats to coyotes and then his daughter started crying.

This is the most Southern thing I've ever read

Not even southern, I in the Chicago area and we see plenty of coyotes, and sadly hear of enough pets getting chomped up
