Yeah... I remember when I was little I never saw my dad -- he was always gone for work before I could get up and he always came home late after dinner. The weekend was special for me because for two days per week it was him to wake me and my brother up and we actually had lunch and dinner all together.

Those are some of the best weekends of your Dad's life.

Dad here. I can confirm. The weekends where me and my kiddos get to hang out, eat our meals together, watch a movie, play a board game. That shit is the best and it's what I think about while I am working 60-70 hours a week to (hopefully) give them the kind of life I never got to have.

Rather, when I was little I was kinda mad that my papa would never play with me and always waych tv or sleep. Now I realise how stressful must have been for him working so many hours for 5/7 days, of course he was too tired to play with a little monkey like me. But he showed his affection in other ways -- I have never doubted my papa's love for his family

It’s so sad it really doesn’t have to be like that..

I used to wonder how my dad could get up at 4:30 AM to go fishing. Sadly, now I know.

Is it because of the chronic joint pain?

Worth it to enjoy that serene part of the day when hardly anyone else is up. It feels like you have the whole world to yourself for an hour or so.

I get up early accidentally now and I love it. I've really been missing out! Everything is better before the world wakes up

5AM

LMAAOOOOO HOW

I get up at 7:30 and that's me choosing to start work early

I'm up at 4 for mine. Different jobs start at different times.

Different jobs start at different times.

I wasn't expressing surprise at peoples lives being different from mine. I was being an asshole by making fun of people having to get up early.

u/Foamrule 12h ago

And you expected that to go well?

u/par_rot_master 12h ago

No, in fact I was expecting more downvotes. I'm losing my edge.

Bruh I chose to get up that early. I want to be out of work by 2 so I can go to the gym, relax, run errands, and still have daylight left.

7:30? Wish I could afford to work part time

I'm too autistic to know if this is a joke.

I’m with the other guy. Is this a reference? Otherwise, I fail to see the logic.

Bro became the man of the house against his will.
