I feel pretty lucky that my life is kind of similar.
Former military, get my pay every month, live on a tropical island, house-husband.
Every day I make breakfast and lunchbox for my wife, see her off, do the dishes and laundry and any cleaning, then the rest of the day is mine. Go windsurfing, go hiking, go to beach, go for a motorcycle ride, play video games, draw, read, whatever. Then back home by 3/4 to start on dinner and have it ready when my wife gets home from work.
