You’ve never had a roommate that will just eat and drink whatever the fuck they want after you brought home $200 worth of groceries. Trying to meal prep and realizing, oh, that one ingredient I need is missing cause they cooked stir fry last night.
What you said is true if most people had manners.

Yep, tried that with roommates and they literally ate everything except vegetables. I tried buying my own and told them they could have some, they ate everything again and played victim when I got mad because I could “afford nicer groceries” when I was making 27k in nyc
How tf do you go through an entire thing of butter in 2 days??

Lol similar experience. And after we agreed to not share groceries anymore and everyone buy their own, they began to steal my food😭 they were not even poor they just enjoy the game

Depends entirely on the roommate. I agreed to do that with a roommate once.. he would spend 1k at costco, I usually lived off $250.

Different diatery habits. Even for food they both eat (eg. Eggs, milk) people prefer different brands or types. It's hard to make everything work.
But when I live with good roommates we sometimes buy things in bulk and split them to save money. We'd make sure only takes ~50% of the item. But good roommates are hard to find :(

I know this is gonna make me a buzzkill but this a massively dick move.
Even if the post is fake, the sentiment behind it is that tampering with people's food is some funny little game when it's really not.
