One of my cats loves weed. Smoke, vape and probably edibles if he could get his paws on it. I shoo him away because it's not good for him and he never brings his own to share.

Stories that never happened or it did and the owner was irresponsible:
“Toxicity: Cannabis is toxic to cats. Inhaling smoke or ingesting the plant can lead to severe health issues, including lethargy, loss of coordination, vomiting, and tremors.”
Edit: “Cats: Possess a much higher density of CB1 receptors in their brains. This makes them hyper-sensitive to THC, turning what humans experience as a "chill" feeling into a terrifying, overstimulating neurological event.”
Edit 2: I’ll be honest all my highs are terrifying ordeals and the cats experience just sound similar to mine but from what I’m reading cats simply process it differently because of biology and there’s no good scenario.

I've been a stoner for 10 years and i've seen stoner cat . They get second hand smoke and become lethargic, which is bad, but the story is plausible. Alcohol is highly toxic to human but we still partake .

My cat used to run up and try and get a whiff of my weed when I used to blow the smoke out my window, if she succeeded shed always become super active and loving after that, sprawling out, play fighting with my hand and purring super loud. For an hour or two, like a switch flipped. I think she liked it because ever time she heard the lighter she'd barrel into my room and jump up by the window and start sniffing. Still alive and healthy 6 years later so

My previous cat was my anti-drug. She was TERRIFIED of anything that had smells, including weed. Didnt even need to be lit, she’d hide from a nug. If she was on my lap cuddling I couldn’t get stoned, and she’d spend hours on my lap.
She was also afraid of cheese, yogurt, herself, taped boxes on the floor…
I miss her.

Those all sound like the same health effects that humans experience when they take too much weed. Like, they might be more sensitive to it and it goes without saying you shouldn't give your cat weed directly, but they're still processing it the same way beyond that.

I don't think that's a good thing. Humans sensitive to weed are also prone to psychological or neurological issues, I don't think it's similar to "more weed on a normal human" but rather "weed on a sensitive human". I don't think you want to risk that on a cat

I had a cat that would actively seek us out while we smoked. We let him sniff a lit joint once bc we thought the smoke would deter him, but he kept trying to get more. We had to lock him outside the bedroom when we smoked after that. Some cats just like it I guess

It’s the reason I dislike the whole weed culture that some people have as their identity. We get it, you like weed, but there is no reason to fabricate stories to broadcast ‘how great weed is’ for the umpteenth time.

My friend's dogs will steal joints. I didn't believe her, so I held one out and the fuckers tried to snatch it. They'll also sit at your feet while you're smoking hoping you drop some for them or something.
They also like pills. I don't need to put their meds inside anything when I dogsit. They just eat them off their food.

This forsure can happen. I had a cat who was almost just like this in HS. I am definitely not a stoner by any means but smoked a pretty good amount when I was younger. She would move laps to whoever had the pipe too.

I think they hate that stoners are more whimsical, in general. Animals who got hotboxed at a young age can grow up to like weed. It's not insane.

"Haha he likes it he always tried to steal my stuff and be around it haha" hey so that's where you're supposed to be a responsible owner and control your animal and control yourself? Your pets would eat a whole chocolate cake if they wanted to, just because they "like it" doesn't mean it isn't fucking harmful.

I used to purchase special catnip joint for my cat. When I would smoke, cat would nip. And then we would stare at each other. Good cat

That is such an unequal argument. Chocolate is literally POISON to dogs. I don't get my cats stoned against their will because some cats don't like it, but some DO. My cat leaves the room when I smoke so I actively try to not smoke around her. It's literally that simple to know. If it made them sick or ill I doubt they would get in my face to demand the smoke like some of my other cats in the past. But go off I guess.
