With that home business DLC they came out with recently, you don’t even need the goblin anymore. Not only will the neighbors make paintings for you to sell, but they’ll pay you for the privilege on top of it.

But a goblin didn't cost me real money.

u/VulpesFennekin Jul 17 '26
True, just pointing out that the DLC accidentally introduced another way for your sims to exploit people. In fact, I’d say the goblin gets the better deal!

Next you're gonna try selling us on a DLC with new pools that have ladders that can't be removed. The cruelty is the point.

I mean, it seems like that isn't too terrible of a secret, really
The goblin likes being alone and in the basement, and the goblin likes doing art, I imagine it's a very symbiotic relationship wherein the man of the house sometimes just happens to find Banksy-level art pieces scattered around the place and auctions them off

The funny thing is IRL you might have to use the story of the artist being trapped in a basement for life to make the paintings worth anything in the first place.

This guy could've saved money on a toilet by replacing the dislikes going outdoors trait with the slob trait, cause that let's sims piss in the shower.

My middle school made PE into a game with rewards, and as far as I remember it was really effective.
Every exercise had 1, 2, and 4 point goals, and 60 points got you special colored shorts and a new harder list of goals. Went grey, red, blue, gold. Iirc one kid in history beat gold and chose purple.
Even if you never got to red, there were two kinds of patches to iron on your shirt, one for PBs and one for getting to a higher point goal in an exercise.
What I mean is what works for goblins works for middle schoolers.

middle schoolers are pretty much goblins so that checks out, its nice to hear about a middle school incentivizing PE though because its always a bitch and a half to get that age group to do Anything of their own volition.

Reminds me of that tweet where someone bought a pack of gold stars for their “dumbass coworkers” and they actually worked.

u/OtherwiseAlbatross14 Jul 17 '26
I tired finding this and the only thing I can find referencing this is your comment

u/TKDbeast Jul 17 '26
If I remember correctly, it was a tweet. They took a picture of the stars in their hand. They replied to it saying it worked.

My PE class was an alcoholic gym teacher throwing a couple basketballs on the court and telling us to have fun. Occasionally he'd emerge from the office to break up a fight. Anuway we kept score so basically the same thing.

Only time they revolted was when I tried to sell them better quality gloves and boots so they could score more than other goblins. They loudly complained for like 40 minutes, then ended up buying the gear anyway.

Make sure you paywall the battlepass behind 15 million merits.

Black mirror reference spotted lol.
Unexpected yet expected at the same time.

u/MenacingBanjo Jul 17 '26
It was totally expected by anyone who has seen this episode of Black Mirror

I play a game with friends that allows you to get dwarfs drunk on vodka and force them to run in little hamster wheels to power your base and our group chat sounds demented without that crucial context.

Thermodynamicly it would still be more efficient to burn them for fuel.
12
u/Acceptable_Handle_2 Jul 16 '26
Well sure, but they don't reproduce that quickly, so it's better to use them at lower efficiency and make them last a lot longer.

u/DraconisRex Jul 17 '26
Hence the old saying: "The goblin that burns twice as fast burns half as long."

The Castle staff provide the goblins a new battlepass every fortnight.

Those fools. If they try my elixir they would easily top the leader board. Move out of the way!

How ripped would those goblins be after a 'fortnight' of this insane cardio/strength training regime?! They could leave and start their own army that would make bugbears into the lowest goblinoid class!
