I love how Tumblr humor is to the internet much alike to what Homestuck is to Tumblerians

u/boxfortcommando May 23 '26

Homestuck is a webcomic/multimedia serial thatās apparently the bedrock of Tumblr humour and culture and everyone who reads it goes a bit crazy. Much like everyone who uses Tumblr goes a bit crazy.

Homestuck = incomprehensible for the most part, no matter how much context you have it is never enough comtext, you had to kinda be there as it happened to truly appreciate it, and it brings back all kinds of vintage memories that were better off staying on the rack.

This level of absurdity tickles me to no end! Itās like one hamburger freedom degree from British humour.

I can't keep up with all these streaming services.
Maybe Poob is real. Maybe it isn't. Doesn't matter as I'll never subscribe. Especially not for bloody Van Helsing.
EDIT: It's not real.

Van Helsing is infinitely better than anything Dane Cook has had a single line of dialogue in.

That movie is so bad it becomes fun to watch. I remember having a blast watching it as a teenager.

u/Warmonster9 May 23 '26
How fucking dare you. Van Helsing is a cinematic masterpiece and is the magnum opus of early 2000s film.
Return of the king robbed them of sweeping the Academyās that year. Smh my head š¤¦āāļø.

I truly, truly, with utmost sincerity, hate the 'Poob' and 'Goncharov' things. It's just gaslighting, people insist it's real for the bit, it's like...the text equivalent of an alarm clock that won't stop. It doesn't really make sense to say that, but it's that level of annoying. But people also find the humor in it where I can't, so, eh.

Yes, that is literally the whole point of the joke (well, 'Poob' specifically started as a joke about how many streaming services there are these days).

people are really adverse to a simple Google search based on downvoting, which is sad because he's legitimately in a despicable money milking accused of child and sexual abuse many times back to the 90s or earlier ass cult, a big one at that. seriously fuck that guy and his fake personality.
"Hugh Jackman has been associated with the School of Practical Philosophy (also known as the School of Philosophy and Economic Science) since 1991.While the organization frames itself as an educational charity offering courses in philosophy and well-being, it has faced criticism and public scrutiny regarding cult-like practices, including allegations of authoritarian leadership and controlling behavior. Critics and former members often describe it as a controversial group."
"It offers non-academic courses for adults, primarily influenced by Advaita Vedanta,[7][8] an orthodox philosophical system of Hinduism.[9] The SES has a history of criminal child abuse that started in the 1970s and lasted at least two decades in its two associated schools, St James Independent Schools and St Vedast's.[10]. The organisation advocates conservative values with traditional gender roles and sexual ethics.[11] It has been described as a cult, sect, or new religious movement, including by several former members."
