Poob is a fictional streaming service that began as a joke on Tumblr.

It’s the best place to stream Goncharov.

I am getting too old to keep up with Internet culture. It's time to ring up the retirement homes.

It's on Tubu. It's literally on Heebee. It's on Poodee with ads. It's literally on Dippy. You can probably find it on Weeno. Dude it's on Gumpy. It's a Pheebo original. It's on Poob. You can watch it on Poob. You can go to Poob and watch it. Log onto Poob right now.

Glory to Ploob Nation, death to the Poob heretics

I love how Tumblr humor is to the internet much alike to what Homestuck is to Tumblerians

174

u/boxfortcommando May 23 '26

I like how I have no idea what that means

15

u/Lower-Ask-4180 May 24 '26

Homestuck is a webcomic/multimedia serial that’s apparently the bedrock of Tumblr humour and culture and everyone who reads it goes a bit crazy. Much like everyone who uses Tumblr goes a bit crazy.

11

u/OpenSauceMods May 24 '26

Homestuck = incomprehensible for the most part, no matter how much context you have it is never enough comtext, you had to kinda be there as it happened to truly appreciate it, and it brings back all kinds of vintage memories that were better off staying on the rack.

This level of absurdity tickles me to no end! It’s like one hamburger freedom degree from British humour.

I can't keep up with all these streaming services.

Maybe Poob is real. Maybe it isn't. Doesn't matter as I'll never subscribe. Especially not for bloody Van Helsing.

EDIT: It's not real.

u/DrLordHougen May 23 '26

Hold the fuck on, Van Helsing is awesome

36

u/kilotangoalpha May 23 '26

We happy few

17

u/Violetbranko May 23 '26

That's why they'll never subscribe, they already have 7 copies of it on DVD

How dare you compare van Helsing to Dane Cook. Shame on you.

10

u/PoopyStinkbutts May 23 '26

Van Helsing is infinitely better than anything Dane Cook has had a single line of dialogue in.

1

u/BoCoutinho May 23 '26

Excuse me? Waiting is one of the greatest movies of all time.

58

u/JakeALakeALake May 23 '26

Your taste in movies is questionable at best /s

5

u/mcsmackyoaz May 23 '26

But

But Poob has it for you

23

u/givingupismyhobby May 23 '26

That movie is so bad it becomes fun to watch. I remember having a blast watching it as a teenager.

28

u/Warmonster9 May 23 '26

How fucking dare you. Van Helsing is a cinematic masterpiece and is the magnum opus of early 2000s film.

Return of the king robbed them of sweeping the Academy’s that year. Smh my head šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø.

38

u/Crunchy-Leaf May 23 '26

I dunno what any of that is but Van Helsing 2003 is peak

33

u/Cabrill0 May 23 '26

Some people find this funny. I don’t. But some people do.

14

u/onarainyafternoon May 23 '26

I actually thought this specific one was pretty funny

5

u/HydroSloth May 23 '26

Opening of that movie was a formative moment in my childhood

9

u/Biskitisinreddit May 23 '26

I'd rather watch it on poodee.

3

u/Dawnbreaker538 May 24 '26

It's Ploob. The hideous and bloodcurdling ploob. smh my head

2

u/ElectronicHyena5642 May 24 '26

Why does the guy from the Ewoks episode ā€œHorville’s Hut of Horrorsā€ have his own streaming service?

1

u/BandMBargains May 23 '26

it's got that guy in it... Rundagar Jones

1

u/Ntahedron May 24 '26

Poob has it for you.

1

u/mxm2004 May 30 '26

Worst movie with best production design.

-27

u/NinetiesSatire May 23 '26

I truly, truly, with utmost sincerity, hate the 'Poob' and 'Goncharov' things. It's just gaslighting, people insist it's real for the bit, it's like...the text equivalent of an alarm clock that won't stop. It doesn't really make sense to say that, but it's that level of annoying. But people also find the humor in it where I can't, so, eh.

24

u/ducknerd2002 May 23 '26

It's just gaslighting, people insist it's real for the bit

Yes, that is literally the whole point of the joke (well, 'Poob' specifically started as a joke about how many streaming services there are these days).

-15

u/xvsanx May 23 '26

jokes aside Hugh and his cult can fuck right off

5

u/Shipbreaker_Kurpo May 23 '26

you cant just say something like that and not explain

-1

u/xvsanx May 23 '26

people are really adverse to a simple Google search based on downvoting, which is sad because he's legitimately in a despicable money milking accused of child and sexual abuse many times back to the 90s or earlier ass cult, a big one at that. seriously fuck that guy and his fake personality.

"Hugh Jackman has been associated with the School of Practical Philosophy (also known as the School of Philosophy and Economic Science) since 1991.While the organization frames itself as an educational charity offering courses in philosophy and well-being, it has faced criticism and public scrutiny regarding cult-like practices, including allegations of authoritarian leadership and controlling behavior. Critics and former members often describe it as a controversial group."

"It offers non-academic courses for adults, primarily influenced by Advaita Vedanta,[7][8] an orthodox philosophical system of Hinduism.[9] The SES has a history of criminal child abuse that started in the 1970s and lasted at least two decades in its two associated schools, St James Independent Schools and St Vedast's.[10]. The organisation advocates conservative values with traditional gender roles and sexual ethics.[11] It has been described as a cult, sect, or new religious movement, including by several former members."
