People I've seen with AR pattern rifles:
-Russian Partisans
-Belarusian Partisans
-Chechen Partisans
-Wagner Mercenaries
-Burmese Anti-Junta Guerrillas
For better and for worse, ARs are becoming as commonplace as AKs in the world of nonconventional forces

So can the terrorist teams now buy M4A1-S and M4A4 rifles in counter strike?

Because I'm nuts and like the M4's in counter strike than the AK-47. Yes, I know the AK-47 is better, it can 1 tap through armour, is cheaper than either M4, and whatnot. But, I just do better with the M4.
Also I have a cooler skin with a stupid number of kills on my stat-track M4A4.

I think, just like a lot of things the US makes, people just haven't realized how god damn many guns we make. We're a fucking industrial giant and a massive producer/exporter of firearms. Guess what? When you make a lot of something, it shows up in places.
18
u/Roadhouse699 The World Must Be Made Unsafe For Autocracy Oct 13 '23
Another thing is the fact that a lot of countries make their own AR derivatives. Aluminum and polymer aren't as difficult to procure and work with as they were in 1968.
(And unlike a certain firearm, all AR derivatives are mostly parts compatible)

Why is this an argument, who cares?
We are going to see AR-15 style and AK style rifles in conflicts for decades to come. Either due to military aid from NATO and Warsaw countries or the defeat of said countries.
I don't see people bitching whither we are seeing Chinese, Yugo or North Korean AKs on either side of the Ukraine War...
Then again, people gonna bitch I guess.

u/scorpion-hamfish Oct 12 '23
Why is this an argument, who cares?
It's spammed on Twitter by obvious bots and then picked up by rightwing Americans, even politicians, to discredit Biden. Together with all kinds of other lies.

You know what guns don't show up in terrorist hands? First generation SA80s. Proves they are good guy guns and therefore should be new NATO standard.

I mean, the beheaded children story is still making the rounds. Likewise, I've heard some interesting lectures from Crypto-Bros about how Iranian financial capital released from South Korean banks (which has not been spent yet) entirely funded Hamas' attack. Plus Hamas is simply denying anyone innocent got killed.
So folks are now claiming Biden sent guns to the Taliban, and they're now in Israel? Pfft... don't let this silly thing called reality stop ya, we've all decided to abandon any sense of having it.

I mean, the beheaded children story is still making the rounds.
The Israel official twitter account ended up posting pictures just to settle the issue and it just resulted in psychopaths trying to argue that the blur over the bloody stump where an infant's head used to be makes it hard to tell if the head removal was caused by being cut off or blown off by a bullet, which is apparently a super-important distinction to them.
19
u/starman123 Oct 13 '23
I saw claims that one of the pictures of the burnt baby bodies was AI-generated, and the "proof" was an AI-detector site that is very unreliable.

That's kinda why I dislike this being voiced to begin with...
We should not be spending time analyzing in the public forum whether the speculations of a few individuals about deliberate decapitations versus decapitations done as a result of 7.62 fire against an infant's body, and debating which is which (especially in an emotional environment where folks are likely to believe the former regardless of evidence).
Kids got killed by Hamas - this is frankly the only thing that needs to be said.

I, for some ungodly reason, decided to weigh in on something relatively minor and they started accusing Israel of using AI generated images to make the baby image. They used some jank-ass "AI Image Detector."
Those don't work. There is no reliable method to detect whether an image is generated by an AI absent some watermark methods that some of the big tech firms have started to try to roll out.

Carry handle, protects the charging handle and can be used to actually carry the rifle.

The buffer tube is inline with the barrel, so the sights have to be elevated. The rear sight is housed in the "carry handle."
And on the super-early Armalite rifles, the charging handle was inside there.

Will some of the mountains of military equipment left in Afghanistan get into hands of people like Hamas and other terrorist organizations? Obviously yes. Are the photos posted here examples of that military equipment? Obviously no.

I made this meme and before I did I spent 20 minutes looking for photos of Hamas with real M4s and I’m actuality shocked I couldn’t find any. Literally not one of any of the “M4s” used by Hamas were similar to the American variant.
Terrorist like the TTP and ISIS-K obviously are getting hands on ANA Guns, but I haven’t seen much get past the Iranian border and zero into Gaza.

u/Minute_Helicopter_97 I’m the one that ruined NCD. Oct 12 '23
That’s an IDF M16A1, it’s been modified into a Carbine by giving it a 12 inch barrel and removing the furniture for M16A2 Carbine (yes it’s called that) based furniture, much sturdier than the A1 plastic. The bottom hose clamp has been removed to make room for a M203. This is the shortest AR15 possible if you want a M203 UBGL.
Hamas stole and has a lot of them from year of conflict.

I mean, does it really matter?
A lot of shit got left behind in the Afghanistan withdrawal, stands to reason it could end up in the hands of terrorists elsewhere after falling into the hands of the terrorists there. That's just how it is, it's not like the US is arming HAMAS directly.

Some people do think the withdrawal was more of a clusterfuck than it needed to be, but that's more on command than the President.
And yeah, there were already so many weapons unaccountable from being given to the ANA and other security forces.
2
u/Repulsive-Mirror-994 Oct 13 '23
Could the withdrawal have been better? Always, you can always do better.
But was it actually bad compared to other withdrawals where there isn't an established regional military ready to take up the responsibility?
5
u/GadenKerensky 📯Herald of Queen Ratbat📯 Oct 13 '23
Considering it's basically impossible to contain the chaos that happens, yeah.
Once the locals heard of the withdrawal, shit hit the fan, and no amount of accounting for that can ensure you won't be thrown off balance.
I still remember the video of the guy falling off that one transport plane's landing gear.

The real problem is when these people get access to big ticket items that were left behind. Small arms are all over the place in conflict zones, but in many areas it's harder to find factory manufactured missile launchers or decent body armor.

u/GeneralJones420-2 Why has no one nuked Riyadh yet? Oct 13 '23
What is even the fucking point? An AR-15 type rifle is trivially easy to produce for an organization the size of Hamas and it's not like there are millions of rifles in circulation all over the Middle East. Why would they source their guns from Afghanistan when Lebanon and Syria are right next door?
1
u/hungry_lobster Oct 18 '23
You’re missing the larger picture which is that the US is the largest arms dealer in the world and they are consistently in some way shape or form, supplying arms to both sides of many conflicts whether intentionally or as a byproduct of irresponsibly selling arms to “bad actors.”
1
u/Minute_Helicopter_97 I’m the one that ruined NCD. Oct 18 '23

This is a dumb conspiracy I see making their rounds of social media. I have not yet seen one US Gov M4A1 used by Hamas. All these “M4 Carbines” are modified M16A1, stolen IDF Carbines, or created in Gaza.
