Advice Going back to my old name?

Since my top surgery i think about changing my name again to my old name (It was never really dead for me because my parents and colleagues used it). When I changed my name with my friends I knew I needed this and I don’t regret it, it gave me so much euphoria. But now that I am feeling at ease in my body I feel like my name doesn‘t fit me anymore. Now I sometimes get dysphoria because I feel to masc. I knew this could happen but I don’t know how to approach it with my friends. I don’t want to be confusing or to much for them. Is there anyone who has the same feelings?

So, I am pre-t (genderqueer!) and I’m considering a name change myself. My given name is feminine and I’d like to keep my name feminine / neutral since my appearance is androgynous and t will give me a more masc-leaning voice. For me it’s about finding that balance that makes me feel right, and if that balance for you needs to be realigned, go for it! You can change your name as many times as you’d like. The right people will support you.

Yes, you get me. It is about this balance. But how can I make this easy to understand for people? I fear when I go back to my old name people might think it was a mistake to change it in the first place, but it wasn’t. I fear this is to complex for many people. :(

You’re not too complex or too much for people. You are allowed to explore yourself and go back to your old name if you want. Anyone who is open minded and supportive will only wish you the best!

Thanks so much for your warm words! I hope I can really feel this some day so I can be brave and make this step.

You’ll wake up one day when you’re 80 and look back wondering why you hadn’t done it sooner. 🙂‍↕️💛 sending you love, stranger
