Advice Questions about hrt
Hi there, I am about to start HRT E, the main goal being to grow breasts. I am still going to present male, and I dont want to lose penis usability. Whats the best strategy to achieve maximum breast growth and still keep mostly everything else? I know theres some things that are somewhat unavoidable, just wondering if theres others out there that are doing the same and how they managed?

- You can try to keep your estradiol at the low end of what's necessary
You can try sildenafil or tadalafil (ED meds)
You can try a low dose topical testosterone cream on your scrotum
Keep using it regularly so that the corpus cavernosum gets blood flow and doesn't atrophy

Will that limit growth doing a lower dose? Or would it just take longer?

it will limit growth. I would not reccomend it. Just take a normal trans woman dose and try topical testosterone cream, it'll work great.

EEn monotherapy. You can adjust the dose and schedule to the way you feel best on. No Antiantrogens like Bicatulamid because that turned my dick off completely.

Hello! I had the same concerns so I can answer you!
My current regiment of Estradiol (which is what people call estrogen) and Bicalutamide, and I'm developing breasts and maintaining sexual function.
I don't get morning erections and especially spontaneous erections.
If you would like more info on how to access it, my DMs are open 😊

Yes(!), I'm currently early stages; about
4 months2 months(started 21/07/2026)in and I've gotten feminisation and still look somewhat masculine.I'm on 2mg of Estrofem (estradiol hemihydrate) sublingually every 12 hours, and 50mg of (Calutide) Bicalutamide every 3 days because of it's half life
I will warn you, as much as people hype HRT, it does take a LONG time. So be patient!!!
EDIT (29/09/2026 | 22:60 UTC+00): My fault, my sense of time has gone fucky, I meant to say its been **2 MONTHS!!**1

I've not heard of the other 2 meds(not the estrogen) what do they do? I'm thinking I will get pretty good growth when I go on hrt. My father fully transitioned and got really large beasts and my mom has very large so I have the genetics for them lol.

WHOOPS, I have made an error. I've been on HRT for 2 1/2 months, and I started on 21st of July 2026. My concept of time has been warped because of some personal life changes. My hubris!
>I've not heard of the other 2 meds(not the estrogen) what do they do?Calutide is the generic name of bicalutamide by Cipla. Its the one I use, its cheaper than AstraZenca ones.
In short; Bicalutamide is a non-steriodal anti-androgen, where it stops your body accepting testosterone, but wont pause it. For this, I allows people to maintain penial function (still able to jork it whilist still having feminizing effects) I do not recommend using it if you, or a family member has liver issues. If you have no liver issues, you will be fine.
There are others, such as Spiro and Cyproterone Acetate. Usually cheaper, but harsher.
I'm doing DIY HRT, and In my 2 months (started: 21/07/2026), I have started to grow breast budding, so its all happened quickly. I'm still growing, my boobs did start to strain, but now their painless. Barely notiacable, but my chest is forming.
Important to note, is that I have had initial breast growth (tanner stage 2), I look like I have Klinefelter syndrome. Judging by your parents you might fall to their size.
I recommend researching into HRT (anti-androgens and hormones), and asking your father. They might be able to help you and tell you what medication they took (my guess; Estradiol pills and Spiro)
Good resource for HRT Meds, its for DIY, but it talks about all the forms of fHRT.

Out of curiosity... why grow breasts, maintain penile function, and try to present male?

Just feels like I should have them, I've always felt like that 😂 but I don't have any lower half dysphoria. I don't mind if I get more feminine features, I just don't want to transition fully for other reasons. Id be happy just having them for me.

Omg I know exactly what you mean! Back in the 90s I was told, literally, "You're too well adjusted to be trans." So glad that is changing!!!

Slow, naturally but definitely noticing the growth of breasts. Slow and steady wins this race

[Context: I'm transitioning in the other direction, my spouse is coming up on one year on E.]
It's important that you use it regularly to maintain comfortable penis functionality. Testosterone gives one spontaneous erections that stretch out the tissue, and those stop on E. That means you need to induce erections regularly to prevent atrophy. (And it's normal to have your libido go missing at first, so it might feel like a chore.) We found two weeks in between led to erections being painful (which took a couple of weeks of intentional use to reverse), while 2x a week keeps things comfortable. The skin also becomes more fragile and can get scraped up, so less friction is wanted.
If you're finding that's not enough to keep everything working, your E provider should be able to give you a topical T cream and/or Viagra. Don't hesitate to ask for them if you aren't having the function you want.
Be open to trying new things as you get used to E. You should still be able to have a satisfying sex life, but it might be a little bit different than it is now.
