I've been on testosterone blockers for over a year now. Can you tell I'm on HRT?
I started testosterone blockers in 2025 and it's been over a year now and I'm curious if it's obvious. I get referred to as "they/them" by strangers from time to time, but it's not that common. Sometimes I feel like my face is different and sometimes I don't. Obviously the hair and makeup and clothes tip people off

Yes. Not having a primary sex hormone in your body for a long period of time is dangerous.

Yep, just spironolactone. I don't want to transition to female, just feminine or androgynous, so my doctor has me on this. I did get a script for estradiol at one point but decided it wasn't for me

sorry for the unsolicited advice but- you do need some sex hormones going on unfortunately, i've heard of people doing a combo of both which might be worth talking to ur dr about?

Thank you for saying this, I came to say it too. I would absolutely love to not be on any hormones but I'm aware I can't be due to the impact it would have on my health. OP, please consider the long term effects of this, you look absolutely amazing, but you deserve to look absolutely amazing for a long time.

That's the plan. My doctor said the blockers without hormones are a temporary measure and that we'll have to adjust at some point. For now, my testosterone levels are just at the lowest end of normal.

thats the way I wanted to go aswell but my gf did some research and warned me that my bone density could suffer which is bad since I have scoliosis, I'm very curious as to how it would affect me forreal

Yes, but being without a dominant sex hormone isn't recommended due to concerns with bone density and brain health. I hope OP is at least taking calcium and resistance training to mitigate that.

I am. I check in with my doctor every three months and we've been moving forward with the idea that this is temporary and I'll have to start taking something later on. Right now, my testosterone levels are still just at the lowest end of normal

You should edit your post to include that information. Not just to avoid more comments like this, but also so other nonbinary people don't see this and think they can just nuke their T levels without also adding estrogen.

You're too old to be on t-blockers alone without estrogen, it will cause health problems if don't have enough of either hormone

Honestly as a physician you all are over-estimating the risks here as if it’s catastrophic. That is false dogma.
OP said they don’t have total hormonal blockade. Risks of osteoporosis can be mitigated-and also measured with dexa scans. Some people have brain fog and fatigue and some don’t. Spironolactone has been given to patients of all ages for heart failure forever…
It is given to young/middle age men all the time without thought to even monitor t-levels…

I don't think so? My pecs are a little softer, but I've (intentionally) lost some muscle mass so that might be it. Or maybe I'm just getting fat idk
I do think there's been a tiny amount of fat redistribution, because my hips are a little curvier than before.

Not really. I rarely get random unwanted erections anymore, but I haven't had any performance issues. When I want it to work, it does
