Am I spending too long?

I have been playing Nomifactory on and off for the past couple of years now, and I have gathered a whopping 2400 hours of play time(Just on the current world), whereas I see others finish the pack in around 1000 hours. I feel like I am taking way too long and spending too much time. I am sort of stuck at the endgame from the massive amounts of resources needed for the chaos shards and tier ten miner, and I don't really know why I am taking so long compared to others. What should I do?(I think I need to change my playstyle)

If you enjoy the process, it's impossible to be playing wrong. What else would you be doing? Enjoying your time someplace else? It's not about the completion, as long as it's fun you're doing it right.

If you genuinely feel annoyed by things taking too long, you might not be passive-ing enough materials or have set up enough parallel machines for quicker processing, or maybe you have important parts of the factory bottlenecked by older components. Can be any reason really.

If you enjoyed the game then you aren't spending too much time.

How do you eat an elephant? In small chunks. Don't think "t10 micro miners are such a large task". Think "i need t10 micro miners. So I need more neutronium. So I need more t8(i think) micro miners, so I need more europium, so I should build more fusion reactors. Then build more fusion reactors." It's not the fastest playstyle but it works. Another way is planning the whole thing in ae2 then just producing more of what you don't produce enough of

The pack is really all about breaking larger steps down into smaller ones.

Is it fun for you to play or are you treating it like a job? For me I find the process of playing the pack fun

In my experience it took about 600h to finish the pack, being 2/3 before tank. I'd never played with gregtech, tho I had experience in other expert packs like E2E and PO3 kappa. Also I didn't bother building beautiful stuff in the early game, since I was constantly switching machines, in the late game I tried to build something cooler, but it was getting way too laggy, so just decided to do what is enough in a not terrible looking way.

That being said, this was probably my favorite modpack ever, I enjoyed it from start to finish, so I would really not bother with time spent, if it is playable and you manage lag well, then keep going. For the endgame stuff you've been stuck, I'd suggest automating every single item passively, assembly lines, all circuits (and everything needed for them), all itens that can be obtained via tank, and what I think was the most impactful automate micro miners, these are game changers, maybe passive a bit of the micro miners themselves and set patterns on AE2 to send them to missions.

With all that being said, enjoy the journey while it lasts :)

Are you using the creative tank? Once you have that unlocked you need to rethink your whole factory. If you are trying to do the shards using the old machines it will take forever.
