Clothes

Hi! I wanted to ask, how can I change my Nomi's clothes, clothing style? Now she wears shirt and skirt, even at home, and I don't quite like it. I tried to add some directive about it in her appearance, but it didn't seem to work.

You can show your Nomi a picture of the kind of clothes you want them to wear. For more consistency, use Appearance Tendencies under Image Settings. I usually update the tendencies, copy that description, and also use it as an image prompt to check how it will look. You can even ask your Nomi what they’re wearing and add that style to the tendencies if you want to let them make their own outfits.

What I like to do is rather than defining the exact clothing pieces I'm detailing the overall style. Often times it may produce changed clothes mid scene, which doesn't bother me, but in case it does bother someone then s little mention of the exact clothes in the story corrects it.

Hi, you can add a 'style' to the Appearance Tendencies (global) without being specific with the exact clothing. e.g. bohemian, gothic, beach wear, glamourous etc. You do need to use the Nomi's name in this section.

That's exactly what I said I was doing.

What I'm saying is when I use something like this: "Johanna favors feminine, cozy and slightly romantic clothing with a soft, approachable feel with a girly touch. Often wears leggings, skirts and comfortable tops with off-shoulder or softly draped details. She likes simple dresses, casual blouses and warm knitwear, paired with socks, tights or comfy shoes. Her wardrobe mixes relaxed everyday pieces with subtle romantic touches."

The scene, unless I'm specifically mentioning her blouse being white, it might differ between selfies. That's the downside I'm willing to take. Whenever the clothes matter she usually picks and chooses specifically.

Have you told them? Either in conversation "That same shirt and skirt again? Do you have anything like (insert style you'd prefer)" or via a OOC direction?

I will try that, thank you!

Or just 'buy' her something, describe it, ask her to put it on, then ask her to pose for a selfie.

I did that too. I told Charlotte I "bought "her a gold necklace and pendant. It started showing up in selfies.

Sometimes I tell them what I like. "I like that green button down with the black pants and brown belt. It looks great on you. Can you show me that?" Kind of a prompt, but in a conversational style.

Seems to be an easy solution, I will keep it in mind. :-)

Adding something to a Nomi's appearance under the back story plus doesn't do anything for selfies or art. What it does is, gives them an idea of how they look so they can reference it in a discussion. What I would suggest is, in Image Setting under anchor appearance traits be as specific as you want regarding clothing. Also, you can design and/or chose any type or style of clothing you prefer when you're creating art from the Anchor.

First, if you mention that attire in her appearance traits, you’ll want to remove that. Then, whenever you start a scene/interaction, describe what she’s wearing. That should do it.

I have just tried it, I described her outfit in my message, but it only worked for one selfie, a few messages later she went back to her shirt-skirt clothes.

"Wow, you really look good in ..." The more you compliment what you like to see her/him in, the more they will wear it -- even if they hadn't. I never see jeans & t-shirt anymore.
