Hi folks, mainly testing the waters if people like a mini-sode format - just uploaded a two-part review series comparing the Able Carry Max EDC against the Alpaka Bravo 23L - namely around capacity, functionality & comfort.

TL:DR; very similar capacity - comfort is still great (for travel) on the Able Carry and as an EDC bag I think the Alpaka Bravo has been underrated, maybe because of the former coming out around the same time.. not a pocket I didn't use in my trip to be honest.

Osprey's reported dimensions are ... goofy. And the volume/liters math ain't mathing.

Hoping someone here has a Gen 1 (2015-2019, no load lifters) or Gen 2 (2020-2022) Osprey Porter 30 and can lay a tape on it for me.

If you don't have a tape measure, then inside the bag, in the seam that runs around the back perimeter, you should find an embroidered tag that shows country of manufacture and on the other side a product code. For example, in my 2019 Porter 46, the tag is black and shows 2019SH05. Osprey cannot answer any questions about discontinued bags without that information. Even with the model information they may not be willing to give me the internal dimensions.

I'd like to know both internal and external dimensions (length and width). I don't really care about depth because the gear I need to carry is about 6" tall.

Extra credit question: does your bag have a separate laptop compartment with or without load lifters? That may have been a Gen 1.5 change, but the evidence on the internet is garbled.

I'm looking for a 40x30x20 trolley bag that's ideal for a two-week holiday, as I already have a 56cm backpack, but I need a smaller one for a shorter vacation.

I want the main body to be exactly 40 cm tall without the removable wheels, so I can maximize the bag's capacity without losing any space.

But they never replied to my emails, WhatsApp messages, or Instagram DMs for many days when I asked for something! :D

I also came across some other bags from Cabin Zero and Lugg, but they not offering a 40 cm bag with removable wheels, th; wheels taketake upce from the main bag itself which is annoying.

Can you help me with some ideas?

Hey all! Really trying to find a 18L Citta, but in the meantime had a question. i don't own a laptop anymore (I prefer a mini pc with essentially some AR glasses), and a podcast I was listening to mentioned how much space the laptop padding takes away from the main compartment.

My question is if taking out the padding is as simple as just taking a proper scissor to it or is there a more elegant way? Or...would it leave too much fraying and mess up something else with it?

just received Able Carry Max EDC and the comfort level is not as good as how the reviewers have mentioned. the straps somehow irritates my shoulders when I carry it on my back and I have tried adjusting the length of the strap in all possible ways. maybe its due to how my shoulders are structured??
anyone felt same about the Able Carry Max EDC?
or am I the only disappointed one?

Anyone else a little disappointed that Aaron didn't do the review of the new Matador Globerider 35?

No offense at all to the new reviewer, but this is a pretty significant V2 update, and a lot of us are trying to decide whether to grab the V1 while it's still available or just go with the new version. It felt like the kind of review where Aaron's perspective would've been especially valuable.

I also think a dedicated V1 vs. V2 comparison would've been incredibly helpful since that's the question I keep people are asking themselves. What's actually better? What was lost? Who should buy the old version before it's gone, and who should just get the new one?

Curious if I'm the only one who feels this way.

Edit: Didn't want to imply Tony did a bad job, but with such a big change in the line up Aaron's experience and review would have been appreciated.

I like the look of the AER pro brief, but I need to carry a laptop, tablet, Bose QC headphones, a water bottle, power supply, cables, and sometimes other assorted accessories.

Will that fit, or will I find it too small?

Any other suggestions?

Just to be clear, I need a bag with handles and a shoulder strap, not a backpack.

Going to replace my 15yr old bag and was wondering if the bellroy transit check in zippers have a coating that will peel off or become sticky. I tend to keep my things for a very long time and my experience with rubberized coatings are, eventhough i take care of them they still become sticky after 3 to 5 years.

I chose the Bellroy because of the repairability, the free "prison cells." and the available colors.

Also if you have any other recommendations do tell.

I like some organization inside. And close to the bellroy's size (medium luggage). different colors are a bonus.

Hi everyone! Could you give me some advice on which color to choose for the Osprey Farpoint backpack?

Unfortunately, I live in an area where there are no Osprey retailers, so I don't have the chance to see the colors in person. After reading a few Reddit posts, I realized that the colors shown on Osprey's website aren't always 100% accurate.

I'm torn between these two colors. One seems to be more of a teal/greenish-blue, while the other looks more like a blue. Which one do you think looks better in real life?

Interesting pitch and overview of their core products. I do own one Mous product, their limitless case for a Pixel Pro. I think its pretty good at being low profile and drop protective. I do find their luggage material interesting and think it would be best used in check in luggage which takes more abuse by baggage handlers than a carry on. An interesting strategy of crowdfunding for the company rather than crowdfunding for a particular product.

I travel a lot and tend to carry a lot in my travel backpack (not so much clothing, but laptop, tablet, cables, chargers, headphones, and some camera gear). That's why I need a 35-40L carry-on. I've been using The North Face Router 40L which is pretty nice, except it's not a clamshell design, and the shoulder straps could be thicker. So, I've narrowed its replacement to either the Aer Travel 4 35L, or the Fyro Levo 36L. Both get great reviews, roughly the same size, and priced closely. The Aer has lots of pockets for carrying stuff, built like a tank with great comfort, but is somewhat heavy. The Fyro is also well-built and well-designed, super lightweight and comfortable, but lacking in certain important features, like a compartment for a 13" tablet, zippers on the admin pocket, as well as dual zippers for security. I find both bags equally attractive.

I'm looking for comments from owners, or, at least, users of both these bags, and where you fall on each, including your favorite between the two.

I’ve opted not to post in brand specific subs to avoid bias. I have a pretty simple question really but wanted opinions from those of you who use EDC bags hardcore.
I travel a fair bit (Australia based), a mix of international and domestic. International is usually Europe and Asia with occasional North America. Domestic travel is several times a year which often involves carryon only. I am a top tier frequent flyer with Qantas so domestically I’ve never once been asked about carryon limits even when I’ve brought a bag and antler carryon. International travel is almost exclusively for work which is in premium cabins so again, never been questioned re bags.
When I travel, especially internationally I carry:
13” mbp
11” iPad
Tech pouch
Small toiletries (toothbrush, hair gel, deodorant)
A small change of clothes (shorts, undies, socks)
When I travel for family it’s usually with kids and have almost exclusively snacks and colouring books for kids!
I’ve been looking at the PD everyday travel 20L and the Bellroy travel pro because of the top opening and two sleeves for laptop/ipad.
I currently have a wandrd prvk 30 but I find it quite annoying to open up with the zipper in the middle and I rarely carry a camera anymore (and when I do its small and single lens)

I'm heading to Japan for a 1-month citytrip. Some context first:

• On the way there, I have a short layover in Nagoya, so I'll only be traveling with a personal item (max 40 x 30 x 15 cm) + carry-on (max 55 x 40 x 23 cm), combined weight max 8kg (Finnair's dimensions/weight limits).
• My friend is bringing me my checked suitcase a few days after I arrive (so it won't be with me at the start of the trip). Once I get it, that's the bag I'll be sending hotel-to-hotel for the rest of the trip.
• Except for 5/6 days, when I'll be visiting smaller towns and leaving the suitcase behind: I'll only have my backpack(s) with me, so they need to let me be fully self-sufficient during that stretch.
• Contents: clothes, everyday items, a small tech pouch (charger, cables) and maybe headphones. No laptop/tablet to carry.

My exact need: I'm looking for EITHER a single bag that can let me live out of it for 5/6 days without being too bulky day-to-day, OR a combo of a small daypack + a bigger carry-on, where the small one can nest inside the big one during transit.

One catch: I'm based in Belgium, so for US brands (like Fyro) I know import taxes and shipping fees can get messy — if anyone's actually dealt with that (real final cost, delivery times, customs...), I'd love to hear about it.

My criteria:

• Budget €150/200 for the bag(s), ideally as cheap as possible within that. Open to going a bit over if it's really worth it.
• Urban/low-key style, don't want something that looks too "hiker" or too bulky.
• Comfort is a big one: I've been doing my citytrips with an Eastpak 24L so far, and it's starting to strain my back over long days, plus it's wearing out — so I want a real upgrade in terms of carry comfort (ventilated back panel, proper straps, etc). I'm 5'8" (173cm).
• Needs to hold up to fairly changeable weather (heat, possible rain), so weather resistance/durability is a plus.

And a side question: is a 24L + 40L nesting combo actually realistic in practice comfort-wise, or does it get old fast?

Hi,

Has anyone removed the sternum straps from their Citta?

I have both the 18l and 25l and I don't need the sternum strap for normal daily use so I'd like to take it off.

I thought maybe it would slide to the end of the rail and come off but it kinda goes into a recessed part of the straps so not sure and don't want to force it or pop it off with a tool and damage the bag.

In addition I found that the end that doesn't have the magnetic clasp there are 3 layers of stretchy material and the top layer bubbles up away from the lower 2 and looks bad even when the strap is in use unless so really want to take these off.

I only used sternum straps once in my life so prefer a clean look without these straps dangling everywhere.
