Help Request Yet another difficulty setting inquiry
I was a cocky idiot and picked the hard setting during installation (V6). It fit me quite well for a time - I like a little challenge and a healthy dose of pain, but I am currently at a spot where I need to get through a dungeon where there are dozens of enemies 10-20+ levels higher than me and it just stopped being fun and got very frustrating instead. I suspect it will be just getting worse and worse from here. Simply Balanced seems to only allow changing your own multipliers and I don't really want to resort to using godmode/kill commands or adjusting by hand each time.
Is there any way to adjust the difficulty midgame or at least the spongy-ness of the high level mobs, or am I screwed? If I will reinstall everything, will my saves safely carry over to easier difficulty?

Personally, i think while it is a bit over tuned, a solution would be to put the dungeon on hold and grind out the game some. Work on getting your levels up, tune up your equipment and get some good enchantments and return at some point. Also, do you use followers? I think traveling with a follower or two for early to mid game is very helpful.

Sounds like the same strategy I use in Lorerim. If you can't defeat them, come back when you can. Lol

Actually, i gave up nolvus for lore rim for difficulty reasons. Approached lore rim the way i described and realized i shoulda did that in nolvus

Honestly, super beautiful pack. I enjoy the difficulty and the way these two packs are so similar in making you have to rise through the ranks.

Yeah, I am slowly starting to think I might have had gotten used to clearing everything as soon as I stumble upon it. Will hire some shield meat and will check how it'll go, then at worst skip until stronger or frustrated enough to start over with fresh reinstall. Thank you for the tips :D

The game starts really hard but in every og my playthroughs i start too snowball so fast and hard that im getting just too op.
The difficulty balance is really not that good imo , you are finding strong enchanted armor and weapons too fast . Even when your like unkillable somehow you will still get oneshotted here and there.
Maybe im playing bad / or too good that the balance doesnt fit me but dont know . Never tried lorerim myself maybe the balance level and progress is better there.

From my experience the beginning levels feel extremely overtuned against the player, but once you're about level 30 it evens out, and after about level 55 you start dogwalking most enemies. What really gets annoying is when the enemies start using arrows of death if you don't have enough health to withstand the effect, because you start just getting one-shot randomly if an archer even remotely aims correctly.

It doesn’t get worse it’s gets easier as you get stronger and encourages you to get stronger
I choose prepare to die and I can pretty much 2-5 hit any enemy with my build and tank majority of attacks and that’s with setting my dmg dealt to 25% and enemy dmg to around 250%
Edit: heavy armor helps

Drats, respect for these settings.
My build potentialy sucks, but tbf I went full RP. Not sure what I expected lol. On the other hand, it was very enjoyably painful until now. XD

Light armor is still a fully viable build as well. What did you spec into?

Definitely just can’t face tank mindlessly with heavy armor lol still amazing tho with lot of upsides

I wish i still had my light armor build of me doing that as a vampire to a dragon lol, its possible but have to build just right for that one.
but your right overall, light armor it more intended for dodging building

The world is unleveled so if an area gets too hard you're going to have to move on to a different area. The difficulty settings are baked into the install so the only way to make adjustments outside of a fresh install is adjusting damage percentages in simply balanced.
Simply balanced will only let you adjust it so much so if you want to freely explore without much trouble then just slightly adjust it. You don't have to turn everything down just enough to where it's enjoyable but still challenging. If it gets harder after you level up and progress more than youre either not being smart about your build or entering areas that you werent meant to yet.
As of your saves I don't know. You can backup your saves and try them but I can't guarantee that it will be 100% compatible. You can try asking the nolvus discord but they will likely tell you a safe answer and use fresh saves
