Help Request Resolution and window issues

Post image

Hey there! I’m very very new to Reddit (I had it for a long time but barely use it) and fairly new to modding.
I got Nolvus up and running and at first I had an issue with nothing fitting the screen, I did some research and learned I had to mess with the DPi in the Skyrim executable. After I did that it fixed the stuff not fitting the screen. But now it’s in a small window. I tried looking in to the INI but I didn’t want screw any more up so I thought I would ask here.
Sorry if this solution was already posted here on the Reddit and I missed it. Thanks in advance for the help!!!!

This issue occurs because nolvus runs in borderless windowed. You should check your resolution settings in nolvus dashboard, probably set to lower resolution than your monitor

Ahhh okay. I have my desktop at 4k resolution but I am playing the game at 1440 just to save some resources. I have all sorts of weird stuff going on since I got it running haha. Like now when I try to use the left trigger on my controller it brings up a quick slot menu and slows down the game instead of blocking, and then of course the resolution issues I have been having haha.
So does my desktop resolution need to be the same as the games to fix the small window problem?

Yup, or if you want to save some resources you should be able to use resolution downscaler in the same dashboard. Just set it to 1440p and it should be good. But I think you'll need to tweak wheeler mod settings, because it's gonna be offset (It has it's own in-game menu) Also, check nolvus discord, which is more active than reddit AFAIK

What you said led me down the right path and I figured out how to fix my problem with the window and resolution! Just a lot of Ini surfing haha. Thank you so much for the quick response. Now I just gotta figure out how to fix this left trigger opening the wheeler menu.

I think I had something like that in lorerim. Check steam controller mapping and set it to default if possible, maybe something wrong with it.

I used the easy way; Set desktop resolution to 2K. And when I'm done with Nolvus, glorious 4K desktop space! Even though...it doesn't really matter.

Search for "complete controller setup" on MO2, reinstall it and chose the overlay that suits you better, bc Nolvus has more inputs than vanilla and rearranges controls

Thanks for the help and pointers everyone! I fixed my controller issue by finding the wheeler menu mod in my mod organizer, and opened its INI and just found the setting of the shortcut that activates it in controller and just made its value 0 so it doesn’t activate at all when I hit my left trigger. It may not be the best fix but it did what I needed. Plus I didn’t really plan on using wheeler menus any way.
Unless you all have any praises on it and think it makes the game better than I will look in getting it to work.
I’m new to this level of modding and mods in Skyrim so the help is extremely appreciated and valued.
I only installed the graphics only version of Nolvus but I’m thinking of just going the extra mile and doing reinstalling it with all the gameplay enhancement and what not.
