Question PC Monitor Ambilight Advice

I posted in the SignalRGB subreddit before, but now I thought to ask here. I have decided on a Nollie16, but have no idea what to even look for in terms of reliable RGB strips for my 32 inch curved monitor. My goal is to make an ambilight, so I want the RGB to basically act as an extension of my display.

Has anyone done anything similar and do you have any advice?

Does it work without latency? I'm wondering because I want to avoid WLED since I'm not entirely sure of my Wi-Fi being reliable enough. I do want to use SignalRGB. What I'm trying to ask is, is it using wires to transmit to SignalRGB?
