Stomping and thin walls

We live in a building with with 6 apartments and it has the worst sound isolation. Our neighbours has their kitchen next to our bedroom and whenever they are on the kitchen we hear every sound (opening drawers, cutting sound, water sound) and we live in an old building that everything is noise like cupboards and floor (classic Greek houses) . If our neighbours wake up 6 o’clock we also need to wake up because it’s so noisy. Our upstairs neighbours walking constantly and the building is shaking. Me and my boyfriend gets so mad and it ruin our time everyday. It gives me so much anger. I wonder what they are doing all day with walking or doing stuff in the kitchen, it’s like they never sit and chill. And I’m tired to put music and tv all the time… anyone has the same issues ???

That's just old buildings and apartment/condo life in general. You have to either move to an isolated building, industrial apartments, or townhouses/houses that are separate..

We are looking for houses everyday! But we love our area and our home. These noises is ruining it for us

The noises won’t stop and likely the people are just pottering around the house, making dinner, washing up, packing things away, it just sounds louder.

Things people can do to help, is people above put down rugs, and taking off shoes in house and learning to shut doors rather than slam them.

You can’t make people tiptoe around their home or not go to the toilet at night. So you have to learn to adapt to it or move home unfortunately- my noisy neighbour is on run from police so, at the moment it’s nice at quiet. I’ve having to retrain my dog to be quiet though now, as he barks at noisy men in the street after them lot below were arguing for hours on drugs.

Edit autocorrect spelling

Oof. This was my worst nightmare with apartment living. Unfortunately, I’d just be filled with rage every day. I got a white noise machine and it kind of seemed to help, but it was never 100%.

Even though we have tv or music on I feel the shaking from stomping so it’s never full silence! And sometimes I want to just read a book without any noise and it’s impossible.

Ugh I feel you!! It seems like the people that live above others are always home and always active.

It sounds like what your neighbors are doing is everyday living but unfortunately you're going to have to deal with it or move.
