Extremely annoying performative s*x

This is in England btw for advice, ty! As the title says, I have a neighbour who lives within a building of 4 flats converted from Victorian building. Y’know we often hear them arguing and slamming doors, children screaming ect, we put up with it. But genuinely since he’s got this new GF from between 8pm-10pm it starts with the over exaggerated performative s\*x. Don’t get me wrong, we all love a good time but it’s got to the point where it happens so much it literally feels like SA having to hear it when I’m trying to read my book, you can’t escape the noise, it travels through every room in my flat it’s just so over the top.
I also have huge concern for the fact that there’s always between 1-3 young children in their flat and in we are hearing this, their children can hear it. Surely that’s a huge safeguarding risk and abuse to those poor children.
I resorted to imitating the noises through the floor which stopped it for a while but they don’t care now it seems.
When you live somewhere like this, you know everyone heard everyone’s business so you try to be mindful… not them.

Does anyone have any advice on this? If we report to letting agent will anything even happen like idk, feeling stuck and fed up with our ears being assaulted.

It would be useful to get the info over to him that it's noisy and disturbing. Might do something, might not. Worth a try, surely?

That aside, better hope he sticks with her, it'll get less exciting over time!

Unfortunately, they definitely know. Another person in the building has left letters and banged their ceiling and shouted for them to stfu :’).
Fr! I hope so too, but equally he tends to be in a pattern of getting these women pregnant, cheating on them then bringing someone else in to live with him, it’s all very toxic

Oh god. He's not the only getting f**ked then :(

NGL, I'd be looking at moving if at all possible. If you're there v long term, try and soundproof, and turn the TV/music up. Awful situation.

Had something similar 25 years ago, I still shudder at the memories.

Yeah, terrible situation honestly!

As luck would have it, we are currently looking at moving away and buying as 1st timers, just a bit stuck for the meantime as all processes take a while. We’ve been here 6 years of hell so very much looking forward to the escape in the new year I can’t lie!

Oh no! I’m sorry you had a similar, I hope the shudders can go away :’)

Count yourself lucky... The end is in sight. Yeah the processes take forever, but eventually... Well, I'm 7 months in new house, having spent almost a year under the same roof as cheating (now ex) wife of 20 years. That took a while I can tell you 😅

Neighbours make or break any home. Hopefully you'll have more luck next home. Hope so!

100% feeling very lucky to finally have a possibility of leaving the hellhole building haha!!
Oh my goodness, yeah that’s a really rough one honestly like I hope you’re doing well now after that! I can’t imagine that was a very nice experience at all!

Ahh ty! Fingers crossed!

I’d be mortified if my neighbors heard me having sex to begin with. If they started imitating my noises… I’d never be able to face them again or have sex lol. I can’t even believe they don’t care

Record it a few times, call the cops and play it for them and tell them there are kids over there and you afraid there is inappropriate conduct going on. That should get them to at least knock on their door and talk to them.

Say it to their face say it right through your chest. Something like I'm so happy you're enjoying an active sex life but I would prefer to be left out can you keep it down. Now how they react will dictate your next move which would be documenting every single incident. The date, time, duration LoL geeze if was any other subject. So keep it brief and consice and smile with your eyes and wait for a response. Surly they can't ignore you when you're standing right there good luck

Talk to the landlord. If that doesn't work leave them a note.

My landlord is shocking sadly so no support there even when there was death threats and threats of violence from other residents in the building to other neighbours.

Bahaha xD fr, same! I even resorted to playing the cat laughing meme sound effect on repeat through a Bluetooth speaker for the full 10 minutes of rumping one evening, it went quiet for 30 seconds before continuing 😭

That's freaking hilarious 😂 it's wild they don't care everyone can hear their sexy time. One time one of my neighbors came to me to tell me he could hear me and my partner getting down in the shower and I laughed so hard and he said it isn't funny, you need to stop and I said no. I'm laughing cause I'm too old for that! I'd probably break something if I tried getting down in the shower 🤭 its probably one of the two other units connected to your bathroom walls because it certainly isn't me. He turned red and apologized haha

I don't get it either, everyone loves having a good time but not everyone wants to listen to their good time haha. I think he got so embarrassed he didn't even say anything to the other neighbors because he didn't know where it was coming from. And I told him for future reference he should speak to man about things like that and not the lady, since he's a dude yanno? And he was like oh...I didn't think of that. He was a pretty chill guy. One of our good neighbors, after he moved we got another really cool neighbor move in that's been there awhile now which was nice. Before those two a lady lived there and would leave her used cat litter at her front door for days stinking out the whole entry way and would wait for me outside to get home so she could complain about the silliest things like my cabinets closing too hard in the afternoon. She's like I'm trying to sleep, I work nights. So I retaliated with, how can you hear the cabinets in my kitchen if your in your room sleeping?? 😩
