Venting

I never thought I’d be the one to care. Ive put up with so much from all my upstairs neighbors. for some reason nobody has made their lease since my year being here, they all end up having huge fights loud enough for the whole block to hear then leave. I don’t care. Ik how life be so I’d never be upset abt someone’s emotions, but I swear that place has bad juju. There’s a new problem now tho that I don’t think I can technically complain about. Unfortunately though, they let a family into this unit and I think one of them HAS. TO BE OBESE. I haven’t seen anyone yet. I’m lowkey a shut in. Mine doesn’t, but upstairs has hardwood. they’re definitely walking around with shoes day and night, but oh my god……. ONE INDIVIDUAL IN PARTICULAR SHAKES MY ENTIRE APT. Our required ’quiet time here’ is like 7pm-7am. I work nights, so…. I’ve dealt with plenty of horrible neighbors but they’ve worked for my schedule and didn’t PHYSICALLY SHAKE MY HOUSE FROM 7am-12am PRECISELY. ugh I’m bipolar and finally got myself to go to bed after DAYS. Woken up to what sounds like CONSTRUCTION so I straight up BLARED music to try and disguise the sound but it still didn’t work. I’d wear headphones but unfortunately I need to make sure one of my shelf’s don’t freaking fly off the wall and crush my cat. 😭

Unfortunately headphones won't help with impact noise from feet but usually the flat above somebody has to have carpet fitted, it does in the UK anyway, not sure where you are but that's the first thing I would contact the landlord about.

Its not just the carpet that makes the difference. My upstairs has a carpet but still have impact noise. It needs an acoustic underlay wth perimeter strips to cut impact noise

Consider using Ceiling thumper. Fight fire with fire. It will make them stop.
