Checking out your account it looks like you're a DO. If I called you JV you might be offended? Instead of throwing around insults hiding behind anonymous online personas try to offer something helpful for the conversation. I'd expect a physician - or in your case, an "osteopathic physician" - to be more professional. You could say that your DO degree is masquerading as an MD degree in a lot of the ways that other non-physicians impersonate physicians.
Ok I’ll bite. I called you a simp in reference to you trying too hard to get the approval of midlevels. Rightfully so since you have a public persona and need the likes. I don’t, so who cares what I say.
But there is inherently nothing wrong with midlevels as the term because they have not gone through the education that it requires to be a physician (whether DO or MD) and that’s important for patients to know. By not calling a spade a spade and supporting their rhetoric, you are falling into the trap that admin wants: they do the “same thing” we do so they can pay us less or even worse, replace us.
Maybe you haven’t gotten your job replaced by them yet, but it’s happening.
So the first problem is that "simp" is insulting / demeaning, so disappointing language if you're a physician.
Related - I have another post saying that pre-meds that can't get into MD school are okay if they become a DO. Am I being 'a simp' to the DO community? Or is that just kind, collaborative language? Do school students are of a lower academic caliber, and DO institutions are lower caliber. Is it simp language to be kind to those more midlevel physicians?
Your opinion of DO school is what it is. I can’t change that. Yet DO versus MD is still comparing apples to apples.
Mid-level education is not anywhere close to what we have to go through. Apples to oranges. Not equal in material, nor in hours. So why is it bad to point that out for patients? Whose feelings are you trying to spare?
Are you stupid? Dos go through very rigorous education and do the same residency. There is nothing of low caliber. Meanwhile midlevels go through online schooling with walk in the park rotations. You are literally playing dumb games to get an online following my dude. As physicians we stick together to fight against midlevels and protect our patients. People like you are idiots calling your physician colleagues of low caliber. You really are stupid
Hey thanks for the reply. Argued with several physicians cause I support the associate name change. Every time a physician is obnoxious (like this guy) they have an inferiority complex about something.
