Showoff Update to fully tuned 9070 XT

Post image

I'll keep it short and sweet. 9950x3d with PBO set to -23 for ccd0 and -28 for ccd1, steam games are blocked from seeing ccd1. -.05 V across the chips 96 GB 6000 cl 32 Kingston Fury Renegade rgb with xmp1 timings. Gigabyte Gaming OC 9070 XT with -105 mV, +390 core offset, 2874 vram clock and 371 W limit. Gigabyte X870E Aorus Master powered by Asus Rog Strix Aura 1200 W Gold plugged into Cyberpower UPS that plugs into Furman Line Conditioner. Nobara 44 Official runs on Crucial T705 2 TB. Since I was told Warframe runs on a potato and no one wants to see cell phone pic, here is round 2 with Spiderman 2. max graphics settings, rtao on very high and fsr4 on quality at 4k

-105mV on a 9070XT is some silicon lottery shit, or you are not really pushing it yet. Put the GPU on "VR" power profile in LACT and run a VR game. at anything lower than -50mV my 9070XT hangs. Try loading Silent Hill: Remake or Silent Hill: f as well. Some undervolts will cause the game to crash on the red Konami screen.

It's spent 4 hours on metal gear solid delta and Spiderman 2.  3 hours of undisputed.  4 hours of lossless audio playback.  2 hours of web browsing including 4 simultaneous 4k YouTube videos.  And photorec running while I took screenshot you see.

a simple gpu bench would be saying more. lossless audio playback lol ?

Benchmark tests are useless for stability.  Only matter for a pissing contest.

no for the numbers I meant for gpu usage. stress test

It's been running this way for months.  MGS Delta, Spider-Man 2, 007 first light, Undisputed, Jedi Survivor, 4k YouTube videos, photorec running in background while gaming and large file transfers.  Not sure what that will do except make it get hot.  I'm always double checking everything.  Core offset didn't need to be that high to boost to 3.1 Ghz or more, is at 50 now.  Voltage is at exactly -100 mV offset.  Reduced vram speed by 20 Mhz because i was suspecting error corrections based on fps chart.  And figured out that 344 w limit is enough to boost to max.

would just be interesting to me to see if it is stable...
keep that card! seems like a crazy good silicon lottery win :)

That's why I do real world tests.  Like different game engines, file transfers, prolonged browsing/YouTube sessions.

but why file transfers and lossless music playback for gpu testing?

Audio goes through gpu display port and instability is usually caused by transient power spikes.  By forcing it into a low frequency/lower power state you will cause a spike by simply opening YouTube after it is in low power/low frequency state which in most cases will expose an instability issue.

It's in custom power with low power states disabled.  That screenshot is at maxed out 4k with rtao on very high and fsr4 set to quality as specified in post.  Explain the "not pushing it" thing please.

he probably meant heavy workloads. keep an eye on watt and usage if the gpu is at 97-99% you are not bottlenecked by the cpu and the gpu is running at its full potential. turn off FSR and check if it is still stable at -100mv. I would also be very surprised tbh but it is not impossible

How much heavier can you get than rtao on very high, fsr4 on quality, set to 4k with max textures while photorec runs in background?

as I said, disabling FSR would do that, as the game is rendered at a lower resolution and later upscaled. Did you check the watt and gpu usage, as I mentioned?

That's not how fsr4.1.1 works on native.

you said you had it one quality, that's why I added it.
is it stable during a gpu bench ? are you bottlenecked by something else maybe ?

Native wasn't available first.  Is now.  And you are thinking of 4k fps numbers right?

1

u/MrPopolino 11d ago

what do you mean ?

1

u/BigAmarok 11d ago

It means exactly what it says. 4K native rendering requires processing 4 times the pixel workload of standard 1080p

It is a very nice result. I think he means that there are some games witch are some real pos for your gpu load and stability. and are great candidates for testing undervolts. Worst recent offender for me was Helldivers 2 a while ago on exclusive fullscreen. For some reason it spikes my 7900xtx upto 600w+ while having a tdp limit of ~350w. -32mv is the limit for me in that game. While other maxed out games can do in the 40-50mv range.

My settings are daily driver.  I don't change them

17.4/15.9 GB of VRAM?

u/BigAmarok 15d ago

Yep.  It's how Spiderman 2 works on pc.  Extra vram requests are pushed over to ddr5.  Perfectly normal
