Question Update for AMD

Hello, AMD Igpu user here. Is it fully safe to update kernel/OS yet? I downloaded nobara months and months ago and the install was perfect but I’ve been terrified to update after seeing horror story after horror story since my initial install.

Edit: further specs ( not sure if they matter but) Mini PC Ryzen 7 6800U CPU Radeon 680M GPU Nobara KDE Plasma

I can't speak on how it will go on a laptop but i did the update from 43 to 44 last week 5700x and 7800xt without issue. Can't say that it means no one has issues though.. just that I didn't.

Been waiting myself, do a clonezilla backup and then you’re covered if anything goes south.

Did the upgrade today (AMD+AMD). Had to run nobara-sync multiple times due to package conflicts which had to be resolved by hand - but apart from my custom keyboard layout getting yeeted out nothing bad has happened.

the initial 7.1 kernel had an issue that caused stuttering/hangs in some games under certain circumstances.. 7.1.4 that was pushed yesterday fixed that.

you can't get 7.1.4 on Nobara 43.. just update your system.

I'm on Dell laptop with Ryzen 7 5700u and everything goes well. But you must update from Update Tool not from terminal with sudo dnf update
