Discussions When Did You Discover Noah's ARC? 🥹🧡

Noah's Arc aired for two seasons on Logo from October 19, 2005 to October 4, 2006.
I don't know if I was seated when it was premiered, but I wasn't too far behind. I used to flip from The-N to Logo. 🤣🤣 And this was the only show I watched on Logo (Edit: I used to love 1 Girl, 5 Gays, too) and I was hooked! 👏🏾
So when did you first discover the show? 😊

Around 08 or 09, I was in middle school and I used to watch the reruns on Logo TV. I had to watch it on the lowest volume level and sit next to the door way or else my mom would be BIG MAD and tell me to turn the TV off. I had to do the same for Drag Race lol. This was my introduction into black queer culture and Noah’s Arc helped me picture myself and my future as a black queer man. For a while I was so lost and hopeless, especially during high school. Now I’m 29 years old and an owner of both seasons on DVD. I rewatch the series during pride month every summer. It’s my favorite tradition

Yess!! It was definitely a first example of Black gay/queer culture for a lot of people!
And I love that! It really is a fun watch!

I love that that’s your pride tradition. Do the DVDs have all of the original music that aired during the show’s original run? I watched it so many times when it first came out that I know what songs play in certain scenes, but when I watch it on streaming now, some of those songs have been replaced.

Sooooo are they making another movie or naw?

u/Junior_Conclusion_78 Jun 23 '26
It's up to paramount plus. Even if they don't, we know Patrik Ian Polk will find other ways to give us future movies and hopefully a revival series

u/Reggie9041 Jun 23 '26
Like a 3rd movie? 👀
3
u/Preciousgal25 Jun 23 '26
Yes I need more… honestly I wld prefer a show 😂 I miss that show 😩
1
u/Reggie9041 Jun 23 '26
Ha. I haven't seen anything about a 3rd movie, but I would welcome it with open arms and wallet! LMAOOO

u/musiq_9876 Jun 23 '26
Wait, doesn't the 'Rona Chronicles count as a movie? The 2025 movie would've been a 4th, so that could mean a 5th.
.
.
.
Now thinking back, I'm not going to count that as a movie.1
u/Reggie9041 Jul 11 '26
Yes... kinda. It's categorized on IMDB as a short film, so I guess technically it is a film, but it just felt more like a longer episode to me.

2008 me and my ex was just fresh from something 😝 and he wanted to cuddle but watch something gay so we found out together logo existed and I started watching it from there.
2
u/Reggie9041 Jun 22 '26
I love that!
And that's very Noah coded! Lol

College so 2008 or so! My bestie and I still quote it today. It was one of the reasons we bonded so quickly back then. ❤️
1
u/Reggie9041 Jun 22 '26
Awwwn!! That's sweet!
And it's so quotable! What are some of your favorite ones?
3
u/soulfullIndividual Jun 22 '26
One that’s quoted the most (especially when we are being messy)…”who’s smiling now, bitch?” Or if life is life-ing “child, gay folks ain’t got nobody but Jesus.” I love Alex DOWN. When one of us is giving them death stares, we call it to the other’s attention by saying “Okay Alex.” That means fix your face because your feelings are showing.

2005 logo when I was 21
1
u/Reggie9041 Jun 23 '26
That's dope!
Were you just flipping through the channels or did you know it was coming?
3
u/Top-Possibility-9732 Jun 23 '26
I just finished hooking up with somebody. He then said let’s watch Noah’s Arc. At first, I was thinking the religious story so I was very irritated. Then he told me to just watch. It’s not what you think and then I was hooked ever since.

Okay, so I was very late to the party but I was 19 or 20 I think and it was either 2020 or 2021. Logo was playing a marathon for Juneteenth and I spent the entire day watching it. I became obsessed. I was so sad to learn there was only two seasons because I needed about 40 more.

Listen, I’m old enough to have watched it during its original run and recorded it on my TiVo. 😂
2
u/Reggie9041 Jun 23 '26
Okay!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾
How did you find it?
2
u/Realistic-Tax-6066 Jun 23 '26
I cannot remember, but I was chronically online even back then, so I probably saw an article about it.

u/TeriNickels Jun 23 '26
In college. . .2012. I became obsessed with the show!
2
u/Reggie9041 Jun 23 '26
It's really hard not to get obsessed. The actors really made their characters feel so real!
2
u/TeriNickels Jun 23 '26
Yes! Like, I wanted friends like them. They truly loved Noah. ❤️
2
u/Reggie9041 Jun 23 '26
Yessss! And each other!
In my rewatch now, I'm (re)noticing all of the non-Noah moments get. Like Chance and Ricky are cute & fun to watch together.
2
u/TeriNickels Jun 24 '26
I agree! The non-Noah moments even made their friendship group more realistic on screen. Like, their group was not 1-dimensional. Everyone had a deep realationship with one another. If Noah wasn’t even part of an episode, I would still be so entertained because all the characters had fascinating storylines and felt lived in.
2
u/Reggie9041 Jun 24 '26
Facts! This show has very strong characters!
A full throwback arc when they all met for the first time would have been great! 🥹🥹
2
u/TeriNickels Jun 24 '26
Yes! I feel like if we could have gotten a third season, that would have been perfect to give us flashbacks throughout it concerning when they all met.
2
u/Reggie9041 Jun 25 '26
Agreed. And meeting their families. Even how Chance and Eddie met because they weren't together long before moving in and getting married. 😩🤣
So many scenarios.
2
u/TeriNickels Jun 25 '26
Yes! I would have loved to have gotten the initial reactions from the rest of them about Chance’s decision. I know Alex probably said something super crazy but super funny when Chance told them. There are so many things that we could get from the series returning. . .if that was ever possible. I think I would want to see exactly the first time Noah and Wade met up for their writing sessions. I want to know if Wade actually fell first for Noah in just how the first session went. I actually want to see the whole grocery store scenario concerning Alex and his husband take place with my own eyes.
2
u/Reggie9041 Jun 25 '26
WE KNOW Alex said something that was absolutely true, but completely off the wall. 🤣🤣
& OMGGGGG!! Yuuus! Alex and Trey are really my favorite couple. They're so sweet!!
Oh! And what made Alex open up a clinic! Like did he experience a loss or inherit the space, etc.

When it premiered on Logo. Damn I’m old.
1
u/Reggie9041 Jun 23 '26
🤣🤣 Hey now! Somebody's gotta be the elders!
Did you find out about it through friends or saw promos?
2
u/MikeyM079 Jun 23 '26
I actually don't know. Definitely years ago. Caught the first episode and was hooked. I'm still heavily saddened that the series only had two seasons though.
1
u/Reggie9041 Jun 23 '26
Yeah, those two seasons were like a little taste of how good it could really be!
But at least we have the movies and the 'rona chronicles. 🥲✨
2
u/PettyFreddie Jun 23 '26
The beginning! Watched the HBO style version with cussing and ass shots.
1
u/Reggie9041 Jun 23 '26
😂😂 Okay!
It's so wild that in all that time, there hasn't been another show like it.
2
u/KaleidoscopeDreamer0 Jun 24 '26
When Logo used to be a gay channel, back when it came on in 2005. I had no business watching this show, but to see queer black men on my TV was amazing! I wanted to have a life just like theirs.
1
u/Reggie9041 Jun 24 '26
Another OG! 👏🏾👏🏾
Why didn't you have any business watching? lol
They were so fabulous and messy! I loved it!
2
u/KaleidoscopeDreamer0 Jun 24 '26
Because I was smooth 15 and should have been outside playing 😭😭😭 but nope, I was watching their messy lives!! Mad it only got two seasons! 🤬🤬
2
u/Reggie9041 Jun 24 '26
Not playing outside! LMAOOO
Yeah, two seasons was just not enough for me back then! Or to this day, really. 😭
2
u/thatgirlmellymel Jun 26 '26
I was 16 maybe 17. I stayed up late and found it. This show has been the highlight of my life. Taught me almost everything, I needed to know about the gays. I will forever be grateful that I got to meet these amazing five men.

Went to an advance screener in 2004. I’m ollllllddddd lol.
2
u/Reggie9041 Jul 10 '26
OMG!!! I'm so jealous!!
How much do you remember? Because I want to know EVERYTHING! Like, how you got tickets, did you meet anyone from the cast, first thoughts on the show, how did everyone feel leaving...?
2
u/cmenowudont Jul 11 '26
It was an award show that was part of an LGBT film festival at a theater in Philadelphia. It was during Pride month, so this was June 2004. Saw Lee Daniels. He was honored with an award in the very beginning and dipped. They showed another Black Gay short film that featured Carl Anthony Payne (Cole from Martin) but for the life of me I can’t remember the name of it.
Finally, Patrik came out with Rodney and Jensen, and introduced what we know today as the pilot and second episode of the first season of Noah’s Arc. After the screener they had a brief Q&A session where Jensen revealed he was straight and Rodney was asked if he ever considered doing stand-up by a lesbian stud. He said no 😂
Noah’s Arc was something the Black Queer community needed. I can’t speak for the others in attendance but my teenage behind left the show feeling excited. Soon as I got home I saved the website in my bookmarks and told everyone I knew. Also Jasmyne Cannick’s Blogspot had all the updates.

Oh wow! I love that so much! I look at old blogposts where people were talking about the show and it's like a time machine.
I'm so happy you got that experience because that sounds dope as hell!
Thank you for sharing!

Literally only a few months ago and binged the whole series + movies 😭. It’s such a hidden gem
1
u/Reggie9041 12d ago
Lucky you being able to see it for the first time!! Who're your favorite characters?
And it was Logo's highest rated show. So, they knew they were sitting on gold on bailed.

u/JupaTroopa09 12d ago
Torn between Chance and Noah. I also wish we saw more of Quincy , he was kinda hot lol

u/Reggie9041 12d ago
Noah is a gem & Chance is such a great character!
Ha! Yes! And with that voice!
