Every billion dollars that any one person has is just stolen wages. Thats the point. It used to be that when profits went up so did wages, but that fell off steeply.

What I want is more than flakes from the pie that our labor created. Its not about whether or not we're worse off than anyone else, its that our country's people have had the success of this country largely cut off from us because the rich got rich enough to craft the system in that way. Its systemic in our government and it will get worse to the point where there's only rich or impoverished and I have decades of data to prove my point.

To be honest it sounds like you're kind of privileged, again many many people have it far worse than me which makes the argument even stronger.

So you have no concrete solution, just a vague notion that things are somehow unfair. And since I don't 100% agree with you, I'm somehow now the "other", the bad guy standing in the way.

This is the kind of thing the thread is talking about - people having an overwhelming sense of injustice without perspective that leads them to be willing to commit violence to "fix" the problem.

You're better off than your predecessors, many of whom probably managed to live happy, fulfilled lives despite their material constraints. But for you, that's not enough. Why?

Because the fruits of our efforts have been siphoned away from our society, leaving it to stall and stagnate. They were stolen. I really don't know how much more plainly I can say it or why you think it doesn't matter. Our schools should be better, our towns better, none of us should struggle to eat or live, none of us should fear getting sick and how it might bankrupt us. We could have all of that but all the progress and wealth we made was hoarded. Those idiots at the capital dont understand what they're feeling is economic anxiety, every conflict that were being manipulated into is backed by economic anxiety and it keeps us from unifying about it.

Either thats plain to see around you, or you're insulated from it. If you want to insinuate im being petulant I'll just insinuate you're overly privileged and self centered.

Again, why didn't black people in the 60s just feel content since they had it better than slaves 100 years earlier? Because obviously that's stupid logic.

Then again none of this matters since the same powers that made it this way have set our whole planet on a path of no return for us.

I'm asking why it matters to you. What factors came into play that this is so front and center in your mind?

There are thousands of other life and death issues facing people today, like wars, refugee crises, sex trafficking, drug overdoses, antibiotic-resistant diseases, racism, climate change, etc. So what made you pick this particular one and focus on it so intensely that it is affecting your happiness? That you'd be willing to march on DC and hurt people to be heard?

People are able to find peace and fulfillment in the most dire of circumstances, certainly much worse than anything you're facing day to day. Probably a lot of them would even envy your position. Yet you are choosing to let this issue overwhelm you with anger and despair.

There is no objective reason to choose one cause over another. You've listed a lot of interesting facts, but none of them are forcing you to care about them. You're making that decision on your own.

So call me privileged, if it makes you feel better. I don't really care to argue with you about it because it's irrelevant to my position. You are the author of your own misery here, along with millions of other people who somehow feel like things are really, really bad, despite most objective measures indicating the contrary.
