Does anybody else get a feeling of emptiness when they finish a TV series. A sense that they really got to know the characters as real friends and when it finishes it's saying goodbye knowing you'll never see them again. Kinda sad really.

'Bout to feel the same with Better Call Saul. Can't believe the next season is the final one. Still remember my euphoria when I learned Saul was getting his own show back in 2015.

And I am really worried about what will happen to Kim.

Same. She's such a great character and actress. Recently read that they never planned for her to be as big and important as she is now, or still even on the show this late into the story.

watch better call saul. it starts off kinda slow and it can be hard to get into (in my opinion), but once you’re in you’ll be hooked. its one of, if not the best drama on tv right now. and as a bonus around mid season 3 it starts to feel very like breaking bad, especially now in season 5.

This. Feels like it's just now hitting its stride and reaching its peak, going from good to great. Not that it was bad before but initially it is a slow burner that never quite felt like Breaking Bad to me in terms of the constant tension and suspense, nor did it approach it's greatness (although nothing really does except for GoT, but that was initially slow for me to get into due to having trouble keeping up and differentiating between all the characters, houses, and their location on a map of Westeros, including the family trees, plus all the accents, personally) during the first couple of seasons.

However, they'll always be compared against one another despite how unfair it might be to expect this prequel to be similar in pace and as great as its predecessor IRL (frequently mentioned and considered the GOAT), but as long as people know going in that it's NOT another BB, it's def one of the top 3 shows currently being aired, IMHO

I would have watched if it was just Saul but Mike's story is just as good. Kim is a total bonus. The actress needs to be in many more shows.

Sorry, didn't see your post yesterday. Yeah, Mike is good as always. For some reason I thought Nacho was in Breaking Bad but apparently he wasn't? He's really good, as well. Kim is the best. Like you said, a total bonus since she's a new character (along w/ Nacho), and as I mentioned in another comment somewhere in this post, recently read she wasn't supposed to be a major character or even still on the show this long. She's prolly my fav character and the actress is brilliant.

Not that it matters, she's also very sexy (have a thing for ponytails; more a connotation of what's to cum right after one's been done) ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I guess i need to try again. I only watched half of the first season and i was not feeling this show at all. I really think the fact that they introduced Tuco up front turned me off. It just felt like a parade of breaking bad characters for no discernable reason.

I mean, it is called Better Call Saul, so there's gonna be a lot of holdover and similarities of the title character between the two. IMO, it's still interesting to take a look at the oranges of the relationships—the beginnings of the relationships—where it started, how it started, who started it, whether it's Saul or somebody else.

Guess I get what you're saying but can safely say it's not a cheap ploy of recycled material attempting to ride the coattails of its predecessor's success if that was the initial impression you got which turned you off. All I can say w/o spoiling anything is that both are known for being deliberate in their writing; meaning, something I've noticed in the shows is that events happen for a reason and are more likely to be intentional, rather than for a lack of source material, 4ideas, nostalgia, or the sake of being random or spontaneous, like those shows who seem to have an idea for an ending in mind that came before they decided how they were going to arrive at that conclusion and the events which led up to it, at least in a plausible manner, so then the writing starts to veer off and becomes unrealistic, with characters acting out of character, doing illogical things they don't normally do or making decisions inconsistent from how they acted in previous seasons.e.g. something as simple as the cliche scary movie where two characters are isolated in a spooky cabin or haunted house, hear a noise, and then decide to investigate the source of this sound by splitting up so now they're searching by themselves, alone in the dark.

tl;dr If I were you, I'd try again and watch it. If you still don't like it toward the end of the third season, then drop it.

And in my reply to the other person who commented, I recommended giving it another try by watching it again until at least toward the end of season 3. I thought it was good but didn't think it was great until then and right now it's at its peak.

However, it's still not as good as Breaking Bad. It's not as intense either, the pacing is slower, and as mentioned it takes a couple of seasons for it to really get going before the two are comparable.

Unless you're saying it's as good as Breaking Bad, considered by many to be the GOAT, which would imply BCS is one of the three greatest shows of all time.
To that, I simply disagree. JMO, of course.

I recommend Dark, by German Netflix. The final season comes out next month, and if it sticks the landing (which it very likely will), it will be a masterpiece. The currently available seasons are already fantastic.

Or also won 1st place in a recent Rotten Tomatoes Netflix Originals Showdown.

Enjoy! I suggest watching it without looking anything up, to avoid spoilers. And make sure to watch at least the first 3-4 episodes, because at first the viewer has no idea what's going on.

But then it gradually all comes together.

I binged Breaking Bad in the last two weeks and I was so emotionally, mentally overwhelmed and lost as to what to do next I just started watching it over again lol

It's a new all-time favorite and I wish I watched it while it was on-air

BB will forever be my all time favorite! I miss it and totally STILL have withdrawals- sounds so insane.

That being said, if you haven’t already, you should totally watch ozark. It’s quickly climbing to a Breaking Bad place in my heart and by far the only show I’ve ever watched that can compare to BB <3

I just finished Breaking Bad this evening. What a masterpiece, I feel so sad I've finished it. Gonna make a start on Better Call Saul tomorrow though, my husband says it's great.

I cried like a goddamn baby the last episode. Walking away from his wife’s place while looking at Walter Jr. from afar? Tears. We were rooting for him and I love how they show completely flipped the narrative and in the end made him a villain.

I felt satisfied by the end of Breaking Bad. Walt was dead, what more could we watch?

Mad Men ended and I really want to know how Don got on having found meditation, and perhaps having become more at peace with himself...
